If it's the bios password, you have to reset the cmos, by removing the prom battery, it looks like a watch battery on you mother board remove it for about 2mins, reinstall and the cmos password will be reset

Download "Hiren's Boot CD"

Here is the link

http://d2.hirensbootcd.net/Hirens.BootCD.10.1.zip

Burn the ISO Image in a CD and set your system to boot from CD-ROM.Insert the Hiren's Boot CD and when start up select "Mini windows XP" and reset the password.

That's it.

if the password is in windows just reload windows using your disc to boot up too don't forget to press f12 at boot to get temporary boot screen up ansd the password will be gone easy fix

I forgot my pass word to my Acer 5420
You can remove or change the Window's User oradministrator's password. you can clear coms but if your are sure you can dismantel your laptop carefully then you can remove the coms battery and turn on once and fix it back that will reset your coms setting.

Acer 3100 forgot password
On Vista it can be tricky. You would need software that would allow you to do this. Bring this into Geek Squad, they should be able to reset it in a few minutes.
