Press and hold the flapper in dont block the optics there is a light beam that goes across and you will see a u shaped notch in your ice bin on the door this determins when the bin is full when the beam is blocked it thinks the bin is full ..After pressing and holding the flapper in what does the red light do keep blinking ?? if so how many time before there is a pause and repetes if it stays on solid i need to know that too

Out loading auger problems

if by this your saying that the ice dispenser auger has a problem ?

a few things to look at on a ice dispenser
1st remove ice bucket with auger completely out of fridge
look at back of fridge is there a build up of ice there ? if so you may have a leaking water valve for ice maker
carefully inspect the back of ice bucket to see that drive catch is not broken or missing parts
2nd verify that the door to side that contains the dispenser is all the way shut , sometimes ice build up keeps door from closing all the way to allow door switch to say ( door closed safe to dispense ice) this switch is not allways at top or bottom of door but maybe in the middle too
and last but not least , make sure all switches and childlock outs are set correct to working positions and that glass sensors detect the glass in its place

Auger rusting in whirlpool fridge ice maker

You have failed to list a model# so that I could look at a diagram of your refrigerator.. Auger's can be replaced but it can be a tricky process since all of the crusher teeth attach to it. Usually if the auger itself is rusting then the other metal parts are as well so it may be best to replace the entire bucket if it is available to save time and aggravation!

I would question why it is frosting up all the time though.. You might be having a problem with the dispenser door not closing causing excessive frost.

Please give your model# along with how often you are having an issue. weekly? Bi-weekly? Ect..

Whirlpool Gold icemaker won't make ice

Try this and add tap water to the empty ice maker. Turn it on if off and if after the water freezes the ice maker cycles dumping the ice into ice bucket and if the ice maker does not refill with water on its own you will need to replace the=> 2188746 Water Inlet Valve
If the ice maker does nothing then replace the=>

Dispenses crushed ice only, not cubed

remove the dispenser bucket where the ice drops into inside the freezer and get a Tupper ware bowl, remove the bucket and dump this ice into the bowl, then rinse with the dispenser bucket with warm tap water to melt any ice on each end of this ice maker, then wipe dry and replace into freezer where you removed it to get cold again and leave empty till the next harvest of ice, this can be normal on some units after so many weeks,as it will not let the blades retract so as just to dispense only cubes, once bucket is cleaned of ice jams the solenoid and blades will again retract for cubes only

My icemaker is not working. Water not filling tray

Probably the valve that feeds water to the ice maker leaks and this water freezes up at the filling tube to the ice maker and the water doesn't go through, but if the filling tube is not frozen and the ice maker doesn't call for water the problem is in the ice maker inside board ,if so you should replace the ice maker.

Ice Maker is not working on my Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I removed six screws from the ice maker to pull it out of the refrigerator.  Their are four screws holding the ice maker in place and two screws on the ice maker door.  Had problems getting the electrical harness disconnected.  Used hot water to removed the ice cubes that were struck in the ice tray.  Poured all remaining water into a bucket and re-installed ice maker.  As of now, the ice maker is making ice !

Sub-Zero 632 Ice Maker Leaking into Ice Bucket

Ice Maker is overflowing and leaking into the ice bucket: There are several things to check for.
Go for the easy stuff first, make sure the icemaker is level, some of the plastic liner fridge's will move and allow the icemaker to tilt over and leak. Other troublemakers..... the fill valve
staying on and over filling the icemaker..... the finish sometimes comes off the icemaker body and all the ice cubes don't come out. This will allow the new water to fill on top of an icemaker
that still has a ice cube or two left inside the body, if you have had trouble with black specs in your ice cubes, this may have been the beginning of your finish problem on the icemaker body.
On the module style ice makers (Whirlpool, Maytag Family, Sub Zero) the printed circuit in the
module head often wears and the contacts become too long and allow the icemaker to over fill = new ice maker or new module head.
waterfilladjustment.jpg
Older style icemakers: This gear is bad for breaking and the icemaker quits turning to eject the ice.
You can remove the front cover to see the gear.
This is a common parts breakdown of the older style icemakers

Water fill volume: The water fill adjustment screw will change the fill volumes by changing the fill time.
One half to one full turn usually ( approx ) is equal to 20cc ( 0.68oz ) to 40 cc.
The correct fill is usually 130 to 150 cc ( 4.5 to 5.0 oz ).
When a water valve is replaced the fill volumes must be re-checked!
