Running too many applications on startup results in slow start up issue or corrupt windows registry may cause similar problem.

Disabling startup programs and services and removing registry errors will fix the slow startup problem.

Sounds like you are running out of ram for the program. Try upgrading to some more ram in your system. Windows xp recommends minimum 512k of memory to run.

My windows xp sp2 starts very slowly which free software i have to download?

May be in your windows drive there are not enough space. please check out this how many space are free. for windows xp sp2 you need minimum 15 gb space. and the other solution is clear temporary files from your temp folder. just you can go run command then type %temp% then open a folder which contain too much temporary files. select all and delete these. and the other solution is your startup or boot run many software which slow your xp. then follow this solution. go to run and type msconfig then open a new window now go to startup tab then unmark the startup software catagory which are not necessary for you. for doing this job but if you not get any progrees then format your xp. thanks

Startup Windows XP

Hi,
It is possible to change your start up screen. Here is a link to the trial software necessary to do this:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/BootXP.shtml

The application is called Bootxp and can be used to change your boot screen to whatever you like.

Best wishes,

How to change windows themes and icons?

You will need a 3rd party program to install custom themes in XP.
StyleXP and Windowsblinds are just a couple you might look into.

Desktop theme changes at startup

That's not supposed to be a problem... When you log in to your account windows loads your personal settings, as well as other programs, so it's supposed to take time. Windows probably has the theme set on default so it would show that while your settings are loading. That or you've got a virus... But... if you think your computer is unusually slow then that's a different problem. Try cleaning up your hard disk space and doing other sorts of stuff, like scanning for viruses to make it run faster.

How to make Vista faster?

You can try changing your Windows Theme to a more plain less animations ect..

To do this click on the desktop right-click now click on Personalise and now there are many things you can adjust to improve your computers performance like screen saver settings, wallpaper settings, theme settings and many more.

If your using the theme Vista Aero (with glass effect) then i would recommend you to change the theme to the Vista Basic theme.

The glass effect uses lots of your computers RAM and will slow it down dramatically.

Here is a guide so you can change your theme with example pictures so it's much easyier to understand what to do - http://grok.lsu.edu/Article.aspx?articleId=638

Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful.
