Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Repair My temp readings on the front of my fridge read -18 and +3 but the temps inside both are not what it says, If I switch the fridge on and off the compressor kicks in and the true readings come up, once the temps come back down to -18 and +3 the fridge and freezer starts to become warm again but the temps for both stay the same -18 and +3. I have the same problem and I keep turning it off and on now I'm worried something else happens to the fridge.Could you help me solve the problem or get someone to do it? just to remjnd you that the temprature inside the fridge and freezer is more than what is showing in the side of the door and if I turn it off and on it will show me the right temp which is much higher than what it should be.could you help me?

We have the identical problem on ours - Fully defrosting has not fixed the problem, it still is occuring. Can anyone tell me what specifically needs to be done/replaced etc. to fix it please? Any information would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

A thermistor is what is in the refrigerator and freezer it senses the temps via resistence and tells the display board what the readings are like the old style temp bulbs on ref. thermostats

HI jACQUELINE.well i reckon the fridges r a bit temperaMENTAL.:).Before u do anything well u can check weather u have ice build up on the rear panel inside freezer compartment.either way i would first turn it off for 24 to 48 hours.then remove bottom plinth panel (bellow the door).thoroughly clean condenser coils right to the end.then try u could get lucky.if it doesnt work then the problem could b inside the panel.def/heater,fan motor,t/stat,or the board.good luck Ali

Model cth18eatfrwh. freezer freezes, but main storage section is warm enough to read "spoilage" on my inside thermometer. what can i do ?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Whirlpool side by side Refrigerator not cooling, two -- where -18 temp used to be.

the fact the bowl was filled with water and that you said the inside of the freezer was coated with ice, indicates a failure of the defrost system.
now the ice has gone, reset the temps and wait to see what happens

Refrigeration problem

Sounds like a main board problem cause the temp should not be accurate one minute, then way off the next. I would have someone look at this cause it would be difficult to figure this out without being there to troubleshoot it

Refrigeration problem

It sounds very much like control board problem. The chances of both sensors at fault seems unlikely. Unusual that it is the exact same temp unless they are your setpoint requirements. I would advice contacting reliable fridge guy to check the cabinet. Hope this is of some if not much help.

Faulty air damper is the usual cause , or possible sensor fault

Based on your weird display issues I'd lean toward the control board problem. At least that can be "one" of a couple problems...
