I have the same problem with mine, even though I recently had the OS reinstalled and the application software, too. It takes 3 days to fully charge (the light turns from green to yellow), then when I start it, it turns on for a few seconds and is dead; no response no lights nothing. What do I need to fix? the mother board, the OS? is something corrupted?

For all the battery issues where you have charged it forever and it doesnt last more then 3 secs go to the toshiba support site and see if your model is one of the ones that needs the bios updated to fix that problem or if its one that had a battery recall on it. I know there was quite a few of those when i was researching their tech support to try and fix my problem. hope it helps

Try plugging it into a different outlet. If that doesn't work, test your ac adapter. Check the voltage for 19.5v.

How to do i enter bios setup in toshiba 5205-s705

Hold down the F1 key, then, while continuing to hold it down, press the power switch. the system will turn on, then prompt you to check system and press F2 (thats from memory, it maybe F1 again) to enter BIOS.
With many Toshibas you can hold down any key to do this, as it simply generates a keyboard error, prompting the same message.
Hope this info helps.

Forget password bios toshiba satlite 5205

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your Toshiba Satellite laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

How to turn on wireless switch on a Toshiba 5205-S505?

First - Determine if your Toshiba Satellite has built-in Wi-Fi. Open the Start menu in the lower left corner of the desktop. Choose "Control Panel" and select "Performance and Maintenance." Click on the "System" icon and click on the "Hardware" tab in the System Properties window. Click on the "Device Manager" button. Click on the plus sign next to "Network adapters." Look for a device that has "Wireless" or "WLAN" in the name. If you see this device listed, then you have built-in wireless.

Next - Turn on the wireless by holding down the "Fn" key on the keyboard and then pressing "F8" at the top of the keyboard. Press this combination until the window indicates that Wi-Fi is on. Some Toshiba notebooks have a switch on the front left side of the laptop that will turn the Wi-Fi on. Many Toshiba Satellites have an LED indicator light on the right front edge of the notebook that will turn on when the Wi-Fi is on.

Finally - Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of the desktop. Select "My Network Places" and click on "View network connections" in the menu on the left side of the window. Double click on the "Wireless Network Connection" icon. This will open a window that lists available wireless networks. Click on the name of the network you wish to connect to and click on the "Connect" button at the bottom. Type in the password if required and connect to to the network. Open a web browser to test the connection.
