Re: ECS 761GX-M754 Problem

Hey there freemantle78, there are many thing to check over. My first step would be to check all your ram to ensure you are using the correct type. In this case DDR-400/333/266/200 single sided only. Also ensure if you just have just one stick, that it is in the dimm closest to the CPU. Remove it and reseat it, ensuring you get the clicks and the levers on both sides to come up on their own when seating. My next step would be to ensure your monitor is connected to the onboard video port, and not a video card, which you will need to enable in the bios setup later, along with installing drivers. Also ensure the connections made to the motherboard via the power supply, and the frontpanel controls are correctly configured. Consult your mobo manual for details I hope this helps.Good Luck!

Elitegroup 761GX-M754 Motherboard problem

After the POST (Power On Self Test), and before it begins loading Windows, push the F8 key, to get a screen of boot options Select the Option "Halt on Error", and then proceed. If there is a Windows crash, it will end with a blue screen, and a bunch of error codes. Reply back if this works, because I need to know the errror code to see why it is crashing.

Also, has the system booted before with this motherboard? Did you recently install it, replacing an existing motherboard? If so, that would explain a lot, because some motherboards have a different chipset and IDE controller, which will cause the IDE drives to not be readable.

Still, a bit more info from you would help narrow the problem down.
