Orange glow on screen, Colors messed up

The color started to go on my 50v500 rear projection TV. I have had it for a few years and it has seen some use. The color started to be off and I noticed when I shut the TV off there is an orange glow over most of the screen. I have heard this can many things, is this something that can be fixed for $500 or less. Anything more than that and I am better off buying a new TV. Thanks

Tv screen has a red/orange glow in the middle -should be black

I have the exact same problem. I had purchased a new lamp shortly after the warranty expired and never needed to use it. I decided to install it today to see if that helped with the red glow. No difference. Someone else posted that when the TV is moved (we just moved from Canada to the US) it can misalign or damage some component. Still trying to figure out what that is...probably cost more to fix that a new TV!!!

Green Screen After Warm Up - 50v500

Some of the components in the video processing boards most likely have become thermo sensitive. Over time, they will fail completely. The service rep will change the processor boards that have the fault.
