Question about Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005 for PC

1 Answer

2008 Trend Micro Internet Security not compatable to Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3.

I have deleted all of the old 2007 and new 2008 Trend Micro Internet Security virus software from my computer, because of the multiple alert messages, that I was having with their new 2008 upgraded software.

Also, I don't want to wait until sometime in February 2008, for them to released a "working" version of their Trend Micro Internet Security, that is compatible with Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3. I don't want to remove any new Microsoft service packs, or uninstall the 2008 Trend Micro program installed in my computer and re-install the PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 back into my computer, and wait again.... until the release of their new 2008 working version.

I was receiving these error messages: Trend Micro Internet Security Message: Your Unauthorized Change Prevention Service has shut down. Try restarting Trend Micro Internet Security to restore Your Unauthorized Change Prevention Service. If the problem persists, please restart your computer. If you continue to receive this warning, please contact Technical Support.

I kept getting this "Alert" message: "Alert Message: Trend Micro Internet Security. Unable to recognize the software configuration. Restart your
computer to restore the missing information. If the problem persists, please contact technical support."

After eight emails back and forth....and multiple number of lines of instructions, I did not want to screw up, delete, uninstall and then install any more files...in my hard drive or registry.

I'm finished with this software....

You cannot upgrade (as you say load ) from Windows XP to Windows XP. You simply cannot do this and there is no point in doing it as I explain. You can upgrade Windows XP to Windows Vista easily. In the case that you want to keep Windows XP and want to enjoy better security and new features than what you do is you go to "My computer" icon and right click it and then take properties of it. The new page that will open you carefully check for these SP1(Service Pack 1), SP2 (Service Pack 2) or likewise SP3.
If you do not find any (SP)Service Packs than according to your requirement you can download and install SP1 or SP2.
Caution: The third level service Pack for Windows XP is SP3. Microsoft has declared that it is not for everyone. I strongly discourage you to install SP3 unless you have a strong requirement for it. After that you can put your XP on normal regular updates from Microsoft.

Good Luck!

PROBLEM INSTALLING TREND MICRO INTERNET SECURITY PRO .

I hope your saying you went to add remove programs and uninstalled
it. You just cant delete program files, and usually windows won't let you.

Try to reinstall the software, and then use windows uninstaller, then re install again.

Any anti-virus will leave registry keys behind and sometimes they cause problems.

After you do this you should clean the registry, this is the best free cleaner thee is.

Make sure your system restore is turned on, then make a restore point, then run the cleaner.

If you need anymore help just post it.

Computer running slow

Well...when using trend micro you shouldn't need windows defender. You should also try cleaning your registry. I own a new computer with vista as well. If your registry is just a little bugged up your whole computer could be dragging. Try the programs below and see which one you like best...

You should continue cleaning your registry about 3 times a week.

Trend micro internet security 2008

Dear Sir/Madam,

This error will appear if you have installed the 16.05 version of
Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro Internet Security and
Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 on a computer running
Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 or Window XP with Service Pack 3.

The Trend Micro Personal Firewall and the Unauthorized Changes
Prevention features main components do not work with the new service
packs from Microsoft.

A working version of Trend Micro Internet Security Pro, Trend Micro
Internet Security and Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008 with
Windows Vista SP1 and Windows XP SP3 would be released sometime in
February 2008.

The release would be timed before Microsoft uploads the new service
packs in their automatic update servers for Windows.

To prevent this message from appearing, follow the steps indicated
below:

a.Check the program version of the Trend Micro program installed on
your computer.

b.If you are using version 16.05 and you want to continue using this
latest version of the Trend Micro program, you must uninstall the non-
working service pack from Microsoft.

c. If you do not want to remove the new Microsoft service packs, Trend
Micro suggests that you uninstall the Trend Micro program installed in
your computer and install PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 until the
release of the working version.

Thanks
Good Luck

Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 14 loading but never loaded

I had a similar problem and this worked for me
with Trend Micros Internet Security.

You will have to uninstall the program first then reinstall it, otherwise it
will hang and cause problems with your computer.

In order to uninstall it do these steps.
Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > System Configuation.
Makes sure you select Selective Startup, and that Load Startup Items is unchecked.
Click OK, and you should be prompted to reboot.

After you reboot and the system is loaded your Virus Software icon will NOT
be in the taskbar trying to load.

Now go into control panel > Programs and Features.
Find the virus program, hightlight and select the uninstall option.
After its done doing that go back into the Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > System Configuration. Select Normal Startup
and hit the OK button.

Reboot again when you see the button prompt.
Now, after the system comes up, reinstall your virus software,

You should be good to go from there.
The process is for Vista, but if your running Windows XP it is very similar.
