Have you tried loading a different print driver? I know the PS Driver is recommended for a phaser, but see if they have a PCL 5 or 6 and see if simply replacing the driver resolves the issue.

I expect you have to put the paper in the other side up. however if you do you could spoil the first side as it will melt the wax again when it's fusing the second side!

You most likely need a Windows 7 printer driver. Go to the Xerox WEB site to download the printer driver - http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-6180/downloads/enus.html
The easiest way I can tell you is this.
GO to Xerox,com, click on support and drivers.
THen the search box comes up type in phaser 6180, then enter, when the next screen displays click the support line for the 6180, In that search boc type in replace waste and step by step directions with photos come up, Its the best place to go to find that information.
