Question about Panasonic PT-47WX42 47" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Convergance Problems I have a 47" Panasonic projection tv that has convergance problems. I replaced both the STK392-110's and now I do not have any control over the green horizontal adjustment. I tested the resistors and they tested fine. I then replaced the TL084 opamp in the green horizontal circuit, but did not help. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Green & Blue Ghosting Convergance problem

Odds are real good that the cooling fluid in the green and blue picture tube assemblies has become contaminated. You can tell by looking down into the lenses with a flash light. Funny thing is the red never gets contaminated because whatever organism is causing the problem can't survive in red light. BTW this may still not solve all of your convergence problems but when the colors are so badly diffused the convergence sensors for flash focus can't lock onto the beam landing.

Convergence problems

I would suggest the convergence ICs as well as a couple resistors right near the Convergence ICs mst likely. 90 % of the time thats the problem. They are not expensive, if you can solder you can handle it if your careful with your solder and use heat sink compound. The ICs will have a number stamped on them usually STK XXX-XXX on a huge heat sink. The following link will have replacement parts http://electronix.com/ Hope this helps you out
