Got much noisier over time

We purchased this dishwasher a little more than 1 year ago for its adverstized quietness (53db) since we live in a small condo. but now the wash is a lot noisier. The repair person came and said that it was normal and that the noise level was acceptable. This is NOT for us as we bought it for leading in quietness among all products...

What should I do?

Re: Got much noisier over time

Hello Hunting2000 the noise could be several things. If you heard what is water hitting against the inner door, try aranging the dishes so that the water is hitting the dishes and not the door. I assume however this isn't the noise you are talking about. Sometimes over time the wash arms themselves will start to make noise. This is from wear. Yes less than a year sounds like a short time. This could have been there from the start. I would call Bosch Customer Support and see if they will pay for a 2nd opion. This well could be the wash arms causing this. Espically the top one not sealing proper and allowing water to hit the front. Hope this helps.

Over the past couple of weeks, my previously 'quiet' dishwasher, has become noisier and noisier accompanied by a vibration - which is alarming. Dishwasher is only 3 yrs old. Cleaning does not seem to be...

I had this happen once. I removed the lower spray arm, then took the cover off of the pump. I found a plastic pull strip from a juice can had gotten in there and was buzzing on the pump impeller blades. I suppose if it had gone completely into the impeller it would have done some real damage, but fortunately I got it in time.

As long as you have the spray arm off, check to make sure you don't have anything like bleached beans or chunks of lime or soap banging around inside it.

I am just looking for the decible rating on the bosch shu5306uc. Can you help? MINE IS ALMOST TEN YEARS OLD AND HAS STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE WITH SAME DB LEVEL OR BETTER WITHOUT...

Welcome to FixYa.

I see your post is roughly a week old, but I`ll post an answer anyway, hopefully you`ll see it.

The SHU53** series Bosch dishwasher has an advertised "silence rating" of 52dB via the AVS² insulation system.

By today's standards you should be able to purchase a $500 or $600 Bosch Ascenta SHX3AM02UC with a "silence rating" of 53dB.

Hope that answer's your question. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Please take a moment to rate this answer accordingly and leave a testimony if you feel it`s warranted.

Good luck.

Have kenmore quiet partner 1 dishwasher. Fuse failed a year ago after 1 year in service, panel has no lights, suspect fuse again. Need to know fuse location and description of fuse

You didn't list model number. remove screws on inside of door to have access to controls. There should be a thermal fuse square object with two wires attached. Some brands now come with short pigtail wires, so bad terminals are eliminated. IF it's a kenmore, then go to You can see parts diagram there.

Do you have a meile g892 dishwasher?

a G892SC - for over 6 years now. It's so quiet that many a time I've opened the door to put something in it, only to discover it'd been running (rinsing, etc., not drying!) the whole time! Despite 3 years in the Army and lots of Rock concerts, I have no hearing loss ;-)

One year ago, the little orange plastic detergent lid latch broke. And considering how well-made the rest of the unit is, it was not as robust as the rest of the DW. I Emailed Miele, and they sent out a repairman who replaced the entire soap unit on the door for FREE, even though it was well out of warranty. You pay more, and you get more.

Mouse inside dishwasher

I have an MDBH945AWW.
I FIXED IT! They are getting in thru the water inlet/vent in the lower bottom left of the dishwasher. Here's how we fixed it:
1. Turn off water to machine if possible. Open the door, remove screws on side and top that hold dishwasher in place. Pull the dishwasher out from under the counter. Remove racks from inside.
2. Remove the sound insulation blanket. Mine was a mouse nest so I threw the thing out. Not going to replace it as the noise increase is minimal.
3. On the left side of the tub outside there is a tube that comes from under and is hooked to a small plastic box with an open top. THIS is the point of entry!
4. Poke a long screwdriver or something down into the box and pop the plastic tension prongs free. Reach into the dishwasher and remove the circular plastic grill.
5. Twist the plastic box to the right or left until the tabs line up and it will pop out of the side of the tub. Remove the tube from the box. The box should now be free.
6. Cut a square of 1/4 hardware mesh cloth (flexible metal grid) and cut a hole to fit over the nipple for the tube. Put mesh over the top of the box, secure in place with really heavy duty tape. Something strong like Gorilla Tape or even metal tape for ducts.... conventional duct tape will not hold after a year or so. I taped all around the edges and sealed it down only leaving the top with the mesh exposed.
7. Put the tube back on and then reinstall the box and then the grill.
8. Take this time to SUPER CLEAN the area under and around the dishwasher. Even the outside of the washer. Mice return to the smell of their poop.
9. Put the washer back in and don't forget the screws as well as turning the water back on.

$5 fix or a $500 new machine... you choose!

Oh yeah, and I'm a girl too...
