Question about Maxent MX-42HPM20 42 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

Plasma TV stand is too high--how can I get a shorter one so it fits under my kitchen cabinet?

We have a 26" plasma Maxent that we love, but it is an inch or two too high, given the height of the silver-metal stand, to fit under our kitchen cabinets. We've done the maximum adjustment we could think of (taking off the little rubber feet under the stand), but we need a shorter stand. What can we do??

How do i hook regular cable to Maxent MX-42EPM20 42 in. EDTV Plasma Television

Your Maxent MX-42EPM20 is not a TV (Television) it is a Plasma panel. The difference being your Panel does not a TV Tuner (no Coax jack or electronics relating to a tuner) Below is the spec sheet that shows this;subnav

You can use a cable box or a cheap Digital TV receiver. You can buy them at walmart, You need one with A/V out puts such as Component. Here is a link to one. This will give you a tuner.

Maxent MX42X3 42" plasma Monitor..

Are you sure that its the main A/Vboard coz it sounds like the main power supply issue to me. Anyways the mainboard is the large board usually located at the center of the tv. If you can remove the back cover of the tv and get me a high res picture of the tv I can mark the board for you.

We threw away the TV pedestal and used the wall mount, now we want to purchase another pedestal so we can use it for stand alone. Where can we find it? How much is it?

I might have one from a 42" maxent plasma that could fit on your plasma.
I will measure it and post the the dimentions if you're interested.

Maxent plasma tv is showing only vertical lines.

Common problem on these sets are many many bad caps on the digital board. Repair kits are available for these containing the necessary parts if you're savvy with a soldering iron. Otherwise, replacement of the digital board is necessary and you'll have to contact either Maxent or a local repair shop. Tracking down which caps are bad can be difficult even with the right equipment as some tend to check good while in circuit when they are actually bad.

I have a skinny line going down my tv it looks like a laser beam

Sounds like you have a row of pixels that have failed. Check and see if it is under warranty, If not it can be very pricey to repair.
