The problem could be caused by a couple of issues. It is either with the switch that is located above the foot, that tells the circuit board when the foot is up or down, or with the circuit board itself. It could also be the lever you lift the foot up and down with. Inside the machine that lever has a plastic "fin" on it that touches the switch. It is possible that the lever is broken. Either way, you need to take it in for service.

My machine is a Husqvarna Prism 980, and I'd like to know if it's a high shank or low shank.

Take a Measure

With the presser foot in the down position, measure from the Needle plate of the machine to the center of the thumb screw of the ankle of the machine (the part that the presser foot snaps on to).

Low Shank - measures ½"
High Shank - measures 1"

Most consumer machines are low shank. There is probably not a walking foot that is made for this machine but there may be some third party suppliers that have a walking foot that will work. Stitchery Sewing Machine Attachments Needle and Thread

Bar that sewng foot is attached to for raising & lowering suddenly will not drop sweing foot all the way down to plate. Any suggestions on how to fix?

Perhaps you accidently moved the switch that enables free hand embroidery? It's up and under next to the pressor foot lever. Slides forward and backward. Forward the pressor foot will go all the way down to the feed dogs. Slid back and it keeps the foot up off the feed dogs but allows the thread tension to work properly. It would be easy to accidently move it when operating the pressor foot raise/lower lever.

Foot pedal husqvarna designer 1 not working

Does the foot pedal go up and down or is it stuck in one position? The foot pedal is quite expensive so I would recommend trying to have it repaired if possible. Otherwise, check eBay or other 3rd party vendors for a replacement. You can find a dealer near you by using the link 'Locate a Dealer' at the Husqvarna Viking Website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us for them to determine if your foot pedal can be repaired.

I can't get the pressor foot on the silver part came off and the actual pressor foot

Place the foot under the arm while arm is in up position. Put arm in down position and foot should snap into place (line it up where it is supposed to go together before lowering the arm).

Trying to us Creative Card

There is an in- between setting. It's not up, but not down either. Does that make sense? If you put the lever up, then bring it down slowly and kind of push it to the back. Hope this helps!
