Question about Hitachi 42EDT41 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television

POWER UNIT I Took the unit into the shop, and they told me it was a power unit was out. I found a new power unit. ? How hard is it to install? The problem I was having, when I was watching the TV it jus turned off. I went to power it back on. All I got was the green light on that showing power was on. No sound or pitcher. I unplug the tv, thinking it would reset it self. Still the same thing. The repair place wants $580.00 to fix it. I found the part for $210.00

It's not difficult replacing the smps in these units but I would suspect at the $210.00 dollar price that the smps you located is either not built with Sanyo original components or is not a new original smps for that unit, maybe rebuilt.. Both possibilities are not unlikely in our industry.
To answer the second part of your question I would suspect that the smps is the culprit. The most common part in these unit to fail is the smps because they are so tightly packed, not vented well and create a large percentage of the heat.
Hope this helps.

I would like to find an electrical schematic for a model JES1036PWH03 GE microwave oven. Oven is dead, no power to control panel or light. Power thru fuse is good.

Couldn't get a schematic from GE. CSR told me they consider the unit a throwaway if it fails. Only parts they stock are the glass turntable and the roller ring. I ended up probing and metering the 110v power circuit. I found an open thermal cutout that was preventing power to the control panel. I removed it and took it to a local parts store and matched it up with a generic cutout with the same specs. Installed new unit and the oven is working like new. Cost: $15.00.

Check that the batteries are inserted properly and that they are in the right way, if either of the batteries is not in the position its ment to be, it won't work.

you would need a Special IR camera to see any light from the remote so that seems like a silly solution to me.

The remote is not working if you can't turn the device off or change channel. You might want to try another remote to confirm that your device actually receives the signal and works, if it does work with another remote, the remote you have is broken.

I had my head unit put in by a audio shop and when i got my car (1993 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo) back my rear speakers dint work so i took the head unit out(because the shop would not fix it or refund me and i...

If the rear speakers worked before your new head unit was installed, then the first question is does your new head unit have the facility to feed four speakers. Some systems will only power two speakers. The Audio Shop should have rectified the fault - you paid for the installation and as the customer you have a reasonable expectation that they would do it properly and ensure that all of the existing speakers were functioning properly. It would be worth challenging them again - if they refuse you could go to Citizen's Advice Bureaux or the nearest Trading Standards Office. Alternatively, try tracing the wires back from the rear speakers to the head unit - are the wires connected up properly... at both ends (i.e., the speaker end and the head unit).

The audio shop has probably hard wired the head unit because the sockets in the back of the head unit were not compatible with the plugs that came as standard with the car. A Haynes Manual or equivalent will give the colour codes for the various wires for the audio system.

No. Sound like the Switch mode power supply is or has failed, to repair this would involve replacing capacitor and or some componets, Many repair shops these days have discontinude repairing VCR's becuse most of the time you can replace the entire unit for the cost of repairing it

Dell 4201c power problem

I am an actual Dell repair tech for a non-Dell refurbishing company. I fix this model exact model, as well as all the other plasma TV's that Dell has come out with. If you are looking for a replacement part I suggest starting with either the power supply. But if you are electronicly inclined, I suggest taking voltage measurements across the labeled parts on the power supply that are the following: VS, VSCAN, VSET, VE, and VA. These correct voltage measurements are labled on a sticker in the top right corner of the TV. If they all come out right then your best bet would be the Y-main board with both upper and lower buffers. They are the circuit boards on the left hand side of the TV. As far as getting the parts, thats a whole other story but I hope this helps to narrow down your parts search.

Failing to power up.

Had the same problem: the battery is simply exhausted. Suggest you buy a new battery. A possible solution you might try is to connect it to a charger and make a hard reset (loosing all data and programs stored). Good luck
