I have the Camera and the Cd - i have installed the Cd and all seems to be fine there - i plug the camera in and hear the notification that the camera is plugged in and i get the message saying New Hardware found - however when i start the program i get a message saying that the camera is not plugged in! - I have plugged other thinings into this USB port and they work! -= Help!!!!!!!
I assume you got this from buy. The CD they shipped is not the right CD for the product. Uninstall it and use an older version of the driver found here:
It will work.

what you can do is uninstall your cam drivers and reinstall again, as soon as your computer recognizes the camera, try following the new device wizard and select install from a list of specific location. this will prompt you with a compatible driver for your cam and select that. then follow all the prompts and click finish. after installing it, restart your computer.
then try it now.
post if this resolved your issue.
