Question about Pinnacle SYSTEMS Dazzle Video Creator Platinum ( Windows )

Pinnacle Studio 11

I had to change my studio 9 as it is not compatible with windows vista. The problem is that the dazzle video creator 9 (DVC9) that came with studio is also not working. Is this because it is not compatibel with windows vista and if so, how can I capture my movies from my dv tapes onto my pc to make a movie? Please can you help?

Hi thanks for the reply, bt you will note that I did say as studio 9 was not compatible with windows vista, I have already bought studio 11 and installed it sucessfully. However my sony handycam is also not compatible with vista and the sony manufacturers told me that if I connect it with a firewire, and have a movie program such as studio, that it will definitely work. I have now discard the studio dazzle VC9 and the problem that I am having is when I want to capture. To my knowledge everything is connected correctly, the camera is set to VCR, yet I get a message to say (this is when I am in capture mode) that the system does not recognise my video?? So as you can see it appears to be either my connection with the camera, or with the studio 11 program. Please see if you can advise me.

    Hi Thanks,
It s maddening especially on the pinnacles studio 11 version - on the box and on the literature it says ' comaptible with windows vista' - I still have a feeling that it is something to do with my firewire.
    thanks again, Joan

No I can't see any evdence that suggest that it is Vista ready, actually it is considered redundent and hence no patch will be made to upgrade studio 9 vers. ie

Note: The following products are end of life, they will not run with Windows Vista and there will be no Windows Vista compliant software

  • Studio products which came with Studio 1, 7,8 and 9. Please visit our eStore to purchase an Upgrade to Studio 10:
  • PCTV products which came with the " Vision" or Pinnacle MediaCenter V.1 or V.2 software. Please visit our eStore to purchase an Upgrade to Pinnacle MediaCenter 4:
  • Products which came with Adobe Premiere, like DV 500, ProOne etc.
  • Instant CD/DVD, Instant Copy Version 7 and 8
  • ShowCenter 1000 b/g

So I guess you need to purchase software ie Studio v.11

Windows Video Maker is a free microsoft included program that should do the trick, on XP it is in /start/programs/assesorys "Windows movie maker"

See THIS for info on Movie Maker in Vista

Hi, I'm thinking that maybe the camera driver is incorrect

If you go to camera's and scanners in control panel is the cam listed as a attached device? Does movie maker see cam?

What is the model of your sony camera?

From the looks of it there's no Vista support yet. Pinnacle Systems needs to come out with somekind of patch soon. I've been looking for an hour as well. Couldn't find anything but people discussing the fact that they need the patch badly. On the Pinnacle site there's a link to software for Dazzle Video Creator 9 but it leads to an error page.

I guess you'll have to watch carefully when an update arrives.
Or try to find something of an automatic update feature in the software, maybe it'll find something.

You can try simpler programs such as Windows Movie Maker but I don't think it suits your needs when you want to edit stuff.

Another solution might be Sony Vegas.
For more information on the Sony Vegas product family, click link below:
[Sony Vegas Product Family at SonyCreativeSoftware.com]

I hope this will help you out. It's really frustrating that you buy software and then you can't use it on Vista.

Greetings,

DarkNeogen.

    @ SoulVisitor,

Strange, that's almost exactly what I already posted! Except for the Pinnacle eStore Links. Please don't copycat solutions.

    Greetings,

I just purchased an Dazzle HD.. and it came with pinnacle studio 14, I downloaded pinnacle and i have the dazzle hooked up right and where it is supposed to show my screen it just has the pinnacle studio...

It requires at least  DirectX® 9 or 10 compatible graphics card with 64 MB (128 MB or higher recommended) to run and if it doesn't meet the requirement s it wont have the support it needs to run. Check this website against your computers specs.  http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Plus+HD.htm

I have Pinnacle Studio HD 14 and it comes with a tool called AMCAP which allows you to record footage off a video game console through a capture card. My capture card is Dazzle Video Creator platinum...

hello, my name is Adam, i am going to try and solve your problem, to do this all you need to do is start recording with your dazzle through pinnacle studio, then open up amcap, here I might be a little sketchy as I do not have the best memory, but at the top I think it sais something like capture, click on that, then at the bottom it should say like options or something, then when you click on that there should be a little drop down menu with different things such as NTSC and Secam, you want to choose the one saying Secam_B, once you have done that minimize amcap and then you should be recording in colour in pinnacle studio. Although you have to do this everytime you start recording which is the down side, need any more help? send me a message on msn, my msn is captain_night195@hotmail.co.uk

Pinnacle Studio 10 DVD -NTSC Bonus disc

The installer for Studio 12 (upgrade version) includes a "Transfer Files" option which permits you to install previous bonus discs from Studio 10 and 11 and transfer to 12. However, you have install 12 first (of course).

For those with Vista 64bit systems, Studio 10 will not install on your Vista 64bit OS pc. However, if you have the Studio 10 disc, you can purchase the Studio 12 upgrade version. During the installment process, you will be directed on how to utilize the Studio 10 disc to advance the installation process.

Only version 10 (and higher) is supported for Windows Vista.

They have pretty good deal going on for upgrades. I think you can upgrade to version 11 for $58.00
