Question about Brother HL-2040 Laser Printer

Print problem I have just replaced the original cartridge but that did not fix the prob The printer prints a second copy of the page on top of the first copy. The second copy is very light and starts just above the center of the page.

    I have the same problem. It didn't develope until I added new toner (a process I'd done before). So I doubt it is a brush problem. But I love the printer and I'm willing to purchase it again if another solution can't be found.

All right this solution might not work for you, but it did for me and it is worth a try. The manual actual gives this solution so you might have already tried it.

BETTER PAPER

I was using a new paper and went back to my older higher quality paper and the ghosting was gone and it decreased the amount of speckling enough that I can delay replacing the printer.

I have the same problem and was told by Brother Support that this is caused by a "brush that must be trimmed" and that I should take it into our local service department.

HP Office jet printer slow


I think it's that black cartridge!

The problem you've described is typically caused by one of the cartridges failing. Try removing the black cartridge and printing (not copying) a test page. If this prints at near normal speed the black cartridge is at fault and should be replaced. If the printer still prints slowly then put the black cartridge back in and remove the color cartridge, then print a page. Replacing the cartridge that causes the slow printing with a fresh cartridge will resolve the issue.

Assuming the cartridges are original HP (not re-manufactured or refilled) you can check the warranty status by CLICKING HERE

Copies have blue background


Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.


If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 5200 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center / All-In-One Center

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.


After printing the test page, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Hp 4345 scan to folder too light


Making multiple copies from one original thru DH, all copies come out good. Having one original and making mutiple copies, first copy comes out find and the rest comes out light. This is cause by the circut board on the optical assembly. Part # IR4041K121NI

here you go the instructions out of the user guide this should help

Aligning the print cartridges

Load plain paper.
2 Open the Solution Center.
3 From the Maintenance tab, click Align to fix blurry edges.

It prints improperly, dark on top then fades to nothing.


Here are the steps.

1.Please verify that the ink cartridges are intact and securely inserted into the printhead.

a.Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead

b.Verify that the label on the ink cartridges is intact, and the cartridges are not damaged.

c.Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.

2.Clean the printhead.

a.On your computer, open your Kodak AiO Home Center software.
b.Click on the Help (?) button.
c.Click on the Maintenance option.
d.Click on the Clean Printhead option.


3.Print Demo Page.

Press Scan and Copy buttons at the same time for 2-3 seconds or until the printer starts printing then release the buttons.

If issue persists,the printhead on your printer requires replacement. Call 1.800.421.6699

I use to get thousands of copies from one cart -


DELL has two types of toner cartridges for your printer:
- a 3000 Page Standard Yield Toner Cartridge (Manufacturer Part# : RP441 | Dell Part# : 310-8701)
- a 6,000 Page High Yield Toner
(Manufacturer Part# : GR332 | Dell Part# : 310-8700)

The Toner yield is based on printing pages with 5% page coverage in accordance with ISO/IEC 19752 testing methodology. Yields vary with usage and environmental conditions.
In practice, depending on what type of documents you print, one cartridge can print much less than the quantity of prints advertised.

You might perhaps bought before a high capacity (more expensive cartrige)?
Also, if you are using compatible (not original Dell cartridges) or reffils of the original cartriges , the yeld of the cartrige may vary.

i was having these same exact problems then i looked at my old ink cartridge and saw that the blue tape was off and that i hadnt taken it off my new one i was trying to print with.!!!
