Question about Kodak EasyShare CD40 Digital Camera

Kodak cd40 has wrong firmware. How can I fix this?

Camera: Kodak EasyShare CD40
Firmware Installed: C310 (incorrect)
Symptom: My computer identifies this as a C310 camera
a) Where can I find CD40 firmware?
b) How do I get the correct firmware installed onto the camera?
Dilemma: This CD40 Camera updates the firmware through the EasyShare software. The EasyShare software sees this as a C310 camera with up to date firmware.

I have a Kodak Easyshare CD40. It use to work fine but, now I can not down load my pictures to the computer. As soon as I turn the camera on (while it is hooked up via usb to computer) the green "on

If your photos are stored on a memory card in the camera, then remove the memory card and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Then connect the USB card reader into the USB port on your computer, the computer will see this as an external storage device, you can then open the folders and photo on the memory card and copy them to your computer.

Video has no sound

In Kodak's infinite wisdom, the CD40 was built without a microphone. Sorry, but it is capable of taking silent videos only.

I need to purchase a memory card for a kodak

The CD40 uses MMC and SD cards. MMC cards are a dying breed, so I'd suggest SD cards. You can find those in a variety of sizes at just about any department, electronic, and office supply stores. You can probably find them at drugstores and supermarkets, as well. You can also buy them online.

Be careful to buy SD cards 2GB and smaller, not SDHC cards 4GB and larger. SDHC cards look identical but will not work in the CD40.

Were can i find reset on my kodak easyshare cd40 camera

It's usually found in the menu. If you can't find it, try this...remove the card and the all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

Exact same thing Both camera and memory card brand new

Hi Junkerman.
I would recommend going to the Kodak website and search for your model camera. You can download an PDF/Adobe Reader manual for your camera that will give you the information you are looking for. There is also an 800 number on the website that you can call if you have any questions or can't find what you are looking for.
Hope this helps.

According to the specifications, there is no flash memory card slot in this model. The only way to transfer pictures is via serial cable to your computer.
