Answered

I put and Admin Password on my Dell E6400 computer and somehow entered in the wrong thing twice?? Not sure how I did it, I was russhing and not used to a laptop keyboard but now I am completely locked out of my system. Is there any way to get around this?

    Yes, so everytime I start my laptop before the OS boots allthe way through I get prompted for this password. I don't know how I entered the wrong thing twice but what I entered or thought I entered is not right. Also it is actually an E5500, I have and E6400 for my work laptop and confused the two Models.

I want to know if you forgot windows 7 admin password, If so, I think you'd better reset the windows password with windows password reset tool. Reset windows 7 password, I recommend Windows Password Reset 9.0, an efficient and highly appreciated software. Search Windows Password Reset 9.0 on YAHOO.

I know a simple way to reset windows administrator password. You can download a software on the internet and reset or remove the password with it. Yesterday, I also lost I windows password, finally I reset it with "Windows Password Seeker" I think it is the easiest and safest way for resetting windows password. Hope this message could help you. If it is you bios admin password you will have to take out the prom battery looks like a watch battery from ur mother board for about 2mins, if windows password and nothe other account has admin rights to log in and change it, you will have to use a windows password reset disk, there are many different kinds to use, if you google it you can find downloads for this software all over the net.

You could try performing a hard reset. Keep in mind that this will reset ALL settings. Admin password should then be back at the default, which is admin.

Clear NVRAM from Tech Mode
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Turn on the power while holding down Left arrow,Right arrow, and Menu buttons.
  • Release these keys when "CE Mode" and "Password" is displayed.
  • Press Up arrow key twice and press the checkmark.
  • "CE Mode", "Printer" and "FAX/Scanner" are displayed. (Entered the CE Diag. mode.)
  • Press the checkmark key to select "Printer".
  • Press Down button to "Installation Set" and press the checkmark key to select.
  • Press Down button to "Clear All NVM".
  • Press the checkmark key twice to execute the test.
  • Power cycle the printer to return to the regular operating mode.

Firstly you can reset computeradmin password in safe mode by the following steps,
Step1: You should restart your computer, and keep pressing F8/F2 toenter the Safe mode.
Step2: After enter the safe mode, you can see the default administratoraccount, just click it to enter the system.

How do i remove a windows password on a dell e6400?
Two options for you.
1. If you have another account that is a member of administrator's group, just log in as that account and change the admin password.
2. Use Windows Password Key, download it from another computer and burn to a blank CD or USB. Used it to reset the admin password to blank.

DELL E6400 Connect to wireless Modem problem
I have the EXACT same problem on the same computer.
I'm not an expert so I searched online but didn't really find a lot of responses to this Dell issue. One suggestion was to turn off Intel PROset and let Windows manage the wireless connection.
That worked for me.
When in the Intel PROset menu, click on Advanced, then click on "Let windows manage your wireless set-up."
Alternatively, you can toggle between the two software by pressing F10.
This solution worked for me.

Dell inspiron 5150 laptop, reset admin. password.
Restart your laptop and keep tapping F8 key the moment you see something on the screen. You will get a black screen with some options written in white. Select the option Safe mode and then you can create a new user with admin rights. Or else at the windows login screen press and hold ctrl and alt key and tap delete key twice and then it will take you to a login screen. Dont put any password there just hit enter. And you will be able to login with admin rights.
