Sanyo Television DP26649 messing up

I got a new Sanyo Television DP26649 for Christmas. I'm having 2 problems with it----

Every time I turn off the tv, I lose channels when I turn it on again and I have to do the Channel Search all over again.

I can't adjust the size of the picture. I've tried all of the settings available but nothing has helped. The picture is very large and cuts off crawls/info at the bottom of the screen when viewing certain programs.

Any suggestions/tips of what I can do to fix these problems?

    Thank you jamtup! I did finally figure out the Pix Shape problem. The 3rd time I programmed in the channels, it stayed programmed so no prob no more. :)

    Thanks jamtup! I finally figured out the Pix Shape thing and on the 3rd time of programming the channels it stayed that way so no problems anymore.

Don't know about losing the channel settings but there is a button on the remote in the middle at the top that says "PIX SHAPE". You can change the size of the picture by choosing several different options. Hope this helps. PJ in Mississippi

Sanyo DP26649 screen blacks out and sound becomes loud static
Most likely you will need to get a diagnoses performed on the set. Your problem could be with either the main board or power supply board. The million dollar question is do you repair or replace? With parts and labor to repair this set, you could come out cheaper replacing it.

Sanyo dp26649 tv will not power on. No green light. i see what looks like fuse with covering on it. how do you check fuse? can i peel covering to see?
Purchase a digital multimeter and check the continuity of the fuse or if your daring enough, you can get splice a 120V christmas light. Undo one end of the fuse, plug in the TV, and bridge the gap with the light. If the light comes on then its something else and well if the light stays off then its the fuse. Make sure that you replace the fuse with the exact one.

I have only had my TV for almost a year and it is already messing up. The picture is shaddowed and you really cant see the picture. Please help or give addvice
Since it's almost been a year I would contact the manufacturer. If you've just been using it regularly, then it has to be a manufacturer defect. It happens from time to time, sometimes you just get a bad one. But before you do that you could try accessing your menu, going to picture, and making sure the brightness is turned up, if it is, then I would think about using your warranty.

Hi,
Thanks for your mail.  As it turns out, my new TV does not have a proper "setup." The customer service rep in India says their "tech" people will call me on Monday or Tuesday.  We'll see.  If not, I'll probably return it and buy a different one.
