When Y1 is selected and I try to select Y2 then Y1 becomes deselected

What are the question marks in the two equations? Get rid of them or replace them with numbers and you'll get rid of the error.

This is problem with graphing differential equation. Invalid Axes error occurs if Axes=TIME or if t(time) is set as a CUSTOM axis. This is important to noticed: if Fields=DIRFLD you cannot plot a time axis. See captured image:

In all probability, someone used the Transfrm Application before. The problem is that it lingers in memory and has to be unloaded from RAM.

To do so

- Press the APPS button.
- Scroll Up or down to reach the Transfrm APP.
- Select it and press ENTER.
- In the subsequent screen, press the number that corresponds to the UNINSTALL option.
- Validate the selection by pressing the ENTER button.
- Go back to your Y= Editor and enter up to 10 functions, then press the GRAPH key.
- Graphs should know display correctly.

Some time or other she played with the Transfrm Application. It remains in memory and takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. It must be kicked out of memory.

- Press [APPS]
- Use Up or Down arrows (Up is faster) to get to the bottom of the APPS list.
- Locate [:Transfrm], highlight it and press [ENTER]
- In subsequent screen, select the [UNINSTALL] option.
- Go back to the [Y=] screen and enter or edit your functions.
- Press [GRAPH] when finished entering the functions.

Your choices are [X:Linear] [Med-Med], [Quadratic :X^2] [Cubic;X^3] [Quartic: X^2]. Press [F6] to scroll right to access the others: [Logarithmic:LOG], [Exponential :EXP], [Power :Pwr] and [Sinusoidal: Sin]

After you select a model and press [EXE], the screen displays the equation and its various coefficients. On that same screen, you have a menu option [F6:Draw]. If you select it, the regression curve will be drawn on the same screen as your statistical graph. This allows you to judge if the fit is good. If it is not, you have the option to choose another model.

The other option [F5:Copy] allows you to save the regression equation in the Y1, Y2, etc. variables.

When you isolate Y^2 and then extarct the squre root you obtain two solutions, call them Y1 and Y2

Y1=SQRT(4-X^2), Y2= -SQRT(4-X^2)

You press[Y=] and type in the right hand side of the equations above, one in Y1= and the other in Y2. Press [GRAPH].

Ih a graphic does not appear within the scree window adjust the window parameters ( [WINDOW]) or Press [ZOOM] and select ZoomIn, ZoomOut, ZoomSTD, etc.

This is simple... Back up all RAM, (press second+, then 2, then 1, press enter to back up something if backed up it will have a star by it) Then clear your RAM (pull out your batteries while the calc is still on or press second+, then 7, then 1)

etc. You just enter the first equation into the Y1= space then hit ENTER and it will go to Y2=. Enter the second equation there. After you have entered all of your equations, push GRAPH and they should come up in order but they will all appear.

Also, make sure your window is set appropriately so that you are able to see all of the graphs.

Lastly, when you look at your Y= screen, are there funny looking arrows before the Y=? If so, do this:

Press [APPS] key
Select Transfrm from the menu
Press 1:Uninstall

On the TI-84 there is an application called Transfrm. When active it prevents you from graphing multiple functions at the same time. To fix this, select Transfrm fom the APPS menu (it was at the bottom of mine) and select 1:Uninstall. That should fix the issue
