Jura S9 Capresso Machine "Fill System" Message

The Fill System message is displayed when I attempt to brew a shot of espresso. Only a small amount of coffee will come out befor the message appears. I must then push the steam button and rebrew another shot. This may happen a couple of times before I can get a single shot of espresso which consumes much coffee and is a real pain.

Slight variation to "fill system" problem... except I cannot make ANY coffee at all. The only button that responds to error message is the steam biutton. It makes a lot of noise when I push this button, but nothing appears to happen. Then the same error message "fill system" appears, again.

I too have a similar problem when I am making coffee, it will only drip maybe for three seconds and then stop. Then it will give a message to fill system so then I push the steam button to clear the message. But when I try to make another cup, it dumps the unused coffee and grinds another batch. This waste a lot of coffee beans. Help please.

The same exact thing happens - just had the machine for 1.5 months. Very disappointing, but will call customer service on Monday.

Constant message saying 'Fill System'. Nothing happens and no coffee comes out. The machine just gets hotter and hotter. The lights for Cappucino and Macchiato are blinking...

I think you use too fine grist on the grinder, or the coffeebeans are really dark and moisty. Try to set the grinder to a coarser grist, for dark roasted coffee it`s not recomended to to use any finer than medium grist. However, the sieve in the brewing unit could be clogged, and you need to clean this out. Put a finger up in the brew unit just along the grounds blade, you will probably find a lot of old fine coffeeground up the. Clean it up as best as possible, and then try to make coffee with coarser grist. If this helps, it`s smart to run a cleaning program to be on the safe side.

If nothing of this helps, you don`t have a choice, you have to send it for service, then the brew unit has to be dissasembled and cleaned from the inside.

Hi there, I just purchased a Jura S9 One Touch. I've used it for a week, maybe making 10 coffees/day. Just yesterday an ERROR 6 message popped up. I don't know what to do, please help?

Hi, Error 6. Haven't come accross that one before. It sounds like brew unit problem.I do know error 7&8 are brew unit problems and 1 to 5 are water flow and heating errors. Try turning off the machine at the main power button and unplug it from the wall for a few minutes. This will reset the machine and right it self. They can do this from time to time. Dazza

The connectors on capresso machines are very tricky.
take it a part again, and make sure all the rings and pressing clamps are in the right place. Also take a good look and "IN" on your hot water tank, and the pressure relief valve in back of machine

My Jura Impressa xs90 keeps stating fill system, even after filling the system several times for the last 3 days.

Empty the Water tank and fill it with warm water. Then keep trying for some time and the problem will get solved.

Jura S9 coffee machine not drawing water - says FILL SYSTEM

I think the magnetic valve is defective. This is located on the left side (seen from behind inside the machine) and there`s connections between the thermoblock and the hot water outlet. Try to press the steambutton and check if the magnetic valve clicks, and maybe check with a voltmeter if it`s receiving power.

PS. During steamprocessing the pump just have small ticking sound, and not the same sound as during brewing. There is no way around this Fill system message, and the reset function is not activated until any System Messages has been clared.

Fill beans message keeps coming up on jura capresso impressa s9

You need to open the grinder, it`s probably packed with old fine powdered coffee that blocks the outlet. Clean this out and try again. Since it works normal when you use pre-ground coffee, there shouldn`t be any problems with any other parts.

Let me know if you want a description for have to open and clean the grinder.

Good luck!

Machine says malfunction and won't froth milk

If you have a rotarywheel; Press and hold to enter the menu, turn to Maintenance, select Decalcify unit; empty tray as requested, fill up 600ml water in a container. Disolve 3 Descaling tablets in the water, and then fill it in the watertank. Press Maintenance button and you`re off.

If you don`t have a Rotary; Turn off the machine and let it cool down for a while, then push the Rinse/Maintenance button for a few seconds; then you will get the message Empty tray. Fill the solution in the watertank and press button.

It`s important that you use the right amount of water, or else the process will "never" finish.
