Is there any way to format a laptop without a battery?I have a hp compaq.the problem is i tried to format it and install a new operating system in it. but after formating and copying all the necessary files and have to restart, it goes off and have to start the whole process again

For the starters I would suggest re-installing new Operating System. If that will not help, then there is a chance that you have faulty Hard Drive, RAM or even motherboard. In that case you will need to make diagnostics for all possible components or just give to repair shop.

these kind of problems which are transmitted to your windows or operating system used is much error, a way to re-operate it will re-format your laptop or install new windows.

if it gave you blue screens and its is stoping for no reason ...just save tha data ..and reinstall the operation system ...format in ntfs normal way all the C partition during this installation and it will be ok ...
if after this still does it ...its not from the operation system and it is probably the Ram memory or a hdd issue.....usually they do not do this after a clean installation with C formatting during ...(format D partition after ...in the same way ..I mean slow not quick format )

Try remove everything that attached on your laptop, Flash Disk, Floppy Disk, CD-ROM, or anything, just the laptop only without anything.

If still won't operate, it's the operating system crashed, try reinstall it with new ones, and you must format the Hard Drive during installations
