Flat Screen will not turn off

Cannot turn TV off, by remote nor the button the TV. Nor do any other functions work -- can watch cable only, (AV1). Have to unplug to shut it off.

Re: Flat Screen will not turn off

Actually, it is not the media box. The fact that the set will not turn off is the key. These sets will power up and display menus even with the input board removed. This is a main board issue. The problem is that they use at least two different board sets and panels in these, CPT and AU Optronics. I can tell you how to find out what is in yours and I may have the board for it.

I turn on the cable and power button then the TV and poweer on and only balck screen and AV appears in the right hand corner. Can't get my TV to wrok. Yet the one in the living room works

Make sure that the source input is set correctly. You can select the different "source inputs" using your TV remote. For example, if the cables from the cable box going to your TV are going into AV1 port on your TV then you need to select AV1 as the "source input" on your TV settings. This works the same with HDMI1, HDMI2, ect.

I have an ilo television and have lost the remote so I cannot access the auxillary channel to use my DVD player.what can I do?

You need to get the original remote for your TV (WWW.REMOTES.COM) to get complete full functions of the remote.
Model number of the TV?
You may have to look for 'INPUT' or 'SOURCE' button on the TV. If it does not have them, then you can try hitting the channel button to get to CH2 and go lower to see if AV1, AV2 will come up on the screen.

Trying to hook up dvd player to a philips 27ps55-s121. I cant get it to show up on the tv screen. I dont know what channel the tv needs to be on to show the dvd. and i am unsure where what plug (cable)...

Connect one end of the VIDEO
(yellow) CABLE to the AV1 in VIDEO
jack on the back of the TV. Then connect
one end the AUDIO (red and
white) CABLES to the AV1 in AUDIO
L and R(left and right) jacks on the rear
of the TV. Connect the other end of the cables to the appropriate color on the DVD player (yellow to yellow etc.)

Press the CH + or – buttons on the
remote to scroll the channels until AV1
appears in the upper left corner of the
TV screen.
Slide the TV/VCR/ACC switch to
the VCR position.
Insert DVD into player and press PLAY.

Sound but no picture on TV

Try hooking your components up to the "AV1" and "AV2" jacks on the TV. I experienced this when hooking up my DVD and VCR (movies of my kids so kept it around). I hooked one to AV1 jacks and one to COMPONENT jacks and had the same result you're describing. Hope this helps.
