Question about Dell OptiPlex GX260 PC Desktop

Diablotek radeon 9200 problems.....please help

I have a GX260 PC, and I am trying to install and use a Diablotek radeon 9200 graphics card. It says in the directions to have SP3 installed, I do. It also says to disable the current graphics controller, in my case the intergrated one, I did that as well. It then says to turn of the pc, and install the card, then plug the vga into the card and turn on the pc. So I did all that but when I turn on the computer, I dont get any kind of input from the pc, the screen is blank and says no signal. I try plugging in another monitor at the same time to the intergrated vga port and nothing will show up on there either....so I am lost and hope to get to work, because of the cad work that I do. I would appreciate any help. thanks

by the way the computer is not in original small case, and it has a different power supply, but it is the gx260 main board

Ok, I turned off the computer, and by remove and replace, do you mean get a new battery or just put it back in? I just put it back in. The card was installed when I turned it back on after the battery replace and there was still no signal from the PC. The only options for the video stuff, is AUTO or ONBOARD in the bios setup. Also, I forgot to mention, the card is AGP not PCI. Now what?

ok, did all that and that was a no go as well:( there is an option in the bios that is turned off in the itegrated devices section called VIDEO DAC SNOOP. what is this for? would it help anything if it was ON?

OK, turn-off the computer, remove and replace the BIOS battery, then start it up with the VGA cable in the onboard graphics port.
Press the corresponding key to go into BIOS setup (Del?) and go to the Integrated Devices menu.
Change the option from onboard to PCI in the Video options.
Exit and save settings. As the computer restarts (you'll have to be quick) swap the VGA cable back to the Radeon's port.

Of course - set it to AUTO. Restart with the cable in the Radeon's port. If this doesn't work, go through what you just did, replacing (as in; take it out and put it back in again) the BIOS battery (with the power cable removed, so that all power is drained in order for the BIOS to be reset). Start the computer with the cable in the onboard port, go BIOS settings, change to AUTO, then Save & Exit, swap the cable and hopefully, you're away.

Cannot play FIFA09

Uh oh. It looks like you're out of luck.

FIFA 09 PC Requirement (minimum):
Graphics: 6600 Nvidia graphics card or ATI equivalent with support for Pixel Shader 3
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c"

Nvidia 6600 came out at 2004 and it supports DirectX 9.0C (Shader 3 came with 9.0C)
ATI Radeon 9200 came out at 2003 and only support DirectX 8.1 (which support shader 1.2 - 1.4)

Nope, Radeon 9200 will not support Shader 3 (neither will it support 2.0).

Time for a new video card maybe?

I hope this answers your question.
