D-link DI-604 H/W Ver F4 F/W Ver 3.14 Made in China - Firmware download

I just bought this Router so as to share my internet conection. This device operates well as per network level but the PPoE conection is not distributed at all to any of the systems. The PPoE conections statusn the D-link indicates conected and none of the system can browse. Another D-link DWL 2100 and Unicorn IPN 5400G has been tested on the connection and they both work. I later discovered that the date on the Router can not be set beyond 2007. The simulation page for the same router on D-link site goes beyond 2012 so I decided to upgrade the firmware.

I've searched the net (d-link sites except china since I cant speak chinese) and the closest firmware I could gef is Ver F3
and that was for the DL-604 made in another country.
Can I load this?

My problem with DI-604 F3 3.14 is it slowed down my internet connection to below 200kbps. Without this router, I could get my subscribed speed of 2mbps. I seached in the internet for this model and found out from the d-link site that they stopped supporting this product. This product is made in China and being sold here in the Philippines. When I looked at the D-link websites, they only support products from Mexico, Canada and the U.S. There is no contact information for a local office in my country.

I don't know if it is okay to download an updated firmware like what banjidaniels did.

I have the same firmware version, and the problem is the IP needs to be released and renewed everyday...

i thought of upgrading and maybe the UK FW should be fine... but just in case, is the FW from Russia in english format? That's just in case the UK firmware fails.

    Thanks for this forum!!!

My router d-link DI-604 is constantlya unplugging... and disconnecting from internet

Check you have the latest firmware and also check you haven't set idle time out (it should be 0 = always on)
Also see if there are other routers in the vicinity especially n-routers which will knock it offline so you should change the channels.

Before using these files, make sure you have the E Revision of that router, you can check by looking on the sticker that contains all the model information like serial, model number.

Be careful while doing a firmware upgrade, very easy to brick your router. Bricking refers to making the router no more useful than an expensive paper weight.

Cant share internet using a router

Hi There, what model of dlink router do you have?
Also, Or just check the ports you have in your router, the internet should be connected to the WAN port and the switch and/or computers to the LAN port(s).
If the router is new by default you should be able to access internet by plug everything the way I told you.
Also, by default the router ip address should be 192.168.1.1, type that into your web browser address bar, then you will have access to the router admin web page were you can see the status page, there will tell you if you have or not access to Internet really. Maybe the problem is that the router have no access internet access at all.

Any idea where to download the DI-LB604 firmware ver 1.01 ?

The following site has a 1.02 beta version of the firmware:

http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DI-LB604/Firmware/

However, it also has the flash utility.....you could most likely save the firmware from your 1.01 router then use the flash utility on that site to flash the firmware you just saved to your 1.00 router :c)

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

D-link DI-604 installing

The 192.168.0.1 was probably changed when it was first set up. To return it to default settings take a paper clip and insert it in the reset hole in the back of the router.

Give it a few moments to reboot and the 192.168.0.1 address should work.

D-link DI-604 problem

I had a same problem a couple of years ago with a DLink router and upgrading the firmware solved it.

The Philippines are covered by DLink's Australian office.
http://www.dlink.com.au. Look in the Support section, you will find the latest firmware and instructions on how to upgrade it.

If you don't find what you are looking for on their tech support web site, you will at least be able to contact them from there.
