My son dropped his psp at the barbershop he says the only thing it does know is play music.

  1. I would try removing the battery for a full minute and then reinsert the battery and light reset it.
  2. Should that not work I would try a different game and see how that responds, maybe the game itself might have suffered damage.
  3. If that reset does not work then a hard factory reset can be tried. This will erase all stats and everything and restore it to new out of the box status. Save any data on a USB drive before doing this if you want to keep it. The steps for this are -
  • Power off the game for at least 5 seconds.
  • Now hold down these buttons "select, start, the "square" button, and the "triangle" button all at the same time and then start the PSP up (while still holding them 4 buttons down.
  • At this time the screen will be black for a few seconds while it resets. This is normal, wait for the PSP to light up.
  • When the PSP lights up the hard reset has been performed.
If non of this helps the PSP come to normal then I recommend contacting Sony as it would be possible, at this point, that the PSP has suffered internal damage.

Regards, Tony

More information is needed... Does the screen come on or do you get a black screen with the green "on" light that only lights up for a few seconds?

Psp trouble

this is a bug/glitch in the psp system i would advise using pandoras battery and just put it back to 1.5 and try using custom firmware it runs smoother if you are not experienced with the psp get someone who is that has custom firmware to make a pandoras battery and downgrade to 1.5 then just update normally if that dosnt work try sending it to sony but this happens to me too sometimes not that often though ever since i went to custom firmware if you do get pandoras battery and want custom firmware look up Angelmikey all his psp videos are to the point and very deatailed hope this helps
