Re: HP Pocket Pc won't turn on

I assume you have already tried a reset with the stylus in the hole in the side of the unit, if not try it.

if you want to try to hard reset. (this will reset to the settings it came from the store with). Try one of these two techniques.

1. hold the power button while inserting the stylus into the reset hold until the screen flashes.

2. hold the power, calendar, and email button while pushing the stylus in the side/bottom of the unit until it resets.

I can not get in to my pocket pc hp ipag on start . after turning it on a small lock appears on the top left and after a while a screen will appear asking me for a password which I have forgotten. so it's...

you can try a hard reset(hold the 2 corner buttons down then using stylus insert in the small hole on the back for soft reset) this will restore factory settings. if you have sync folder on your computer you should be able to retreive contacts, pics, etc. hope this helps.

Get to Start menu

I have same problem but found a work-around. I have found that 2 SD cards kept in the pockets in the flip over cover of my leather case has caused scuffing to the touch screen and the screen will now not align properly. In the alignmet utility I have to tap the centre of the alignment cross in the middle and 2 top positions and tap about 3mm above the cross in the bottom 2 positions (portrait format). This means of course that the bottom of the screen is out of alignment and I have to tap high at the bottom of the screen but I have got used to it. Not great, I know, but its better than nothing.

Fixed white block on the top title bar

This is clearly a hardware fault in the actual lcd display or the connector to the mainboard. the stylus function are controlled by the touchpad, it is mounted separated from the actual lcd display (on top of it) and connected with another set of wires to the mainboard. Most probably your problem can't be solved. However, try to take it to a service to have it checked, especially the connectors between the lcd and mainboard.
