I have just recently got my Archos player and syncronised it with my windows media player.
Having bought a new CD I wanted to copy it onto my Archos player, so I ripped it onto windows media player then syncronised it with my Archos. It said on windows that the files had been added to my Archos player but when searching for it (searched the album, artist, unknown, the lot) I can't find it!
I am sure I have done everything correctly.
Thanks for any help.

Once you connect your archos 5 to the computer, it will ask you whether u want to "enable USB' or "charge only"....select enable USB (OK). then go to "My Computer", and you will see a graphical image of the archos 5, under the name "portable devices"..
Double click on it, until you get to the "music" folder..and once you open this folder, you cn start copy-paste....- where you copy the music file from a folder in your computer, then paste it to the 'music ' folder on your archos..and you're done!!!!
Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
I hope this helps
