Hi don't know if you can help but we have a panasonic TH-42PX7A that is only 1 month old and a clock hanging above it blew off the wall today and sort of scraped the screen. It hit right in the dead centre of the screen but isn't so much a scrath but more like a graze-app 2cm wide and 1cm long.It is more noticable when the tv is off or if sunlight is hitting it but my husband (understandably i suppose!) Is really making life hell! I need to find someway to fix it.It is a little rough to run your finger over but i really don't think it is deep.I just don't know if it is a plastic or glass screen and whether or not it has a screen cover.Any advice is welcomed as i think we will be heading for divorce if i can't get this fixed!Cheers Aimee

it is possible that either the d-board is going bad or 1 of the c-boards. try to find and authorized panasonic servicer to help with the repair. we are authorized and in dallas texas. our business is Aces Tv Service.
If the menu display isn't coming up either, then the odds are the power supply for the screen is the problem. Most manufactures call this a Backlight Inverter Board. Being that it's only 7 month old, it should still be under warranty by the manufacture. I would try to get it fixed by the warranty first if possible.
You need to have your television tuner tested for faulty components. Your problem is caused by the components in you tuner overheating and losing functionality. The tuner need to be thoroughly test and repaired. You can reach Panasonic customer support at this telephone number. 1-888-843-9788. They should be able to tell you what the problem is and where to take it for repair. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
Since the noise started with the new stand, I would suspect vibration as the noise. Did you attach the new stand to the plasma with screws?
If the stand is not the issue, then, a fan inside could be making the noise. I have found the flex cables from various boards inside the set causing strange noises. Touch the back of the set and see if the noise goes away or changes in specific areas.
When Plasma Panels are set in a corner, they seem to make a louder noise than usual. It could be the panel as well.
If the set is one month old and bought from a retail store, then, it should be under warranty and a servicer could be called.
Let me know what you found out.
