First, Install the K-lite Codec Pack, if you haven't already.
Now, take your video you want and encode/re-encode it with your favorite video encoder software.
It must be 320 x 240 for it to show up properly on the Onyx. It must be
in .avi format and it is a good idea to use MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio
with this. It CANNOT be anamorphic (16x9), it MUST be 4:3 output and DO
NOT keep the aspect(sp) ratio. Your resulting video when played should
look small(ish) and square.
Okay.
Now load up this:
http://www.soft29.com/freeware/smv_conve...Select the .avi you made as the input video. Choose an output directory. Where it say "quality", choose "custom".
Choose audio quality as 22k.
Video should be around 30k (I think the "k" means Kbps, I think)
Choose Fullscreen, NOT Full Image.
Choose Landscape.
Framerate should be "same as source"
Image size should be 128 X 160
This
should give you 181MB/Hour. You can also choose the 200MB/hour preset,
but to tell the truth, I never tried it, I always go custom.
Now
hit "convert", wait for it to finish, and you should be left with an
.smv file. Load this to the "MVIDEO" folder on your Onyx, and enjoy!
Peace.
