Lamp Failure, Ballast, or color wheel?

The ballast board for sure. If the color doesn't come back, try cleaning all the lens elements in the box in front of the lamp. If that still doesn't restore the color correctly, then look at the color wheel.

Replaced main bulb in front but lamp button on front of tv is still blinking and tv won't show picture

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.

  • Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.

  • 2

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.

  • 3

Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.

that lamp timers are only there to give you an idea that the lamp may fail soon. the tv will count to a certain number of hours and then give the message on screen. most tvs the number will be around 4000hours or so. i suggest using the tv until the lamp fails you may change a lamp that has many many many more hours when you dont need to. there is a timer that you can reset if you consult your owners manual so the message will not show up any longer.

TY-LA1001-K I replaced the lamp and didnt restet

I have searched and searched on how to reset the timer. Most solutions say you have to press and hold the volume down button on the tv while also holding down the zero button on the remote, or the pip or split button on the remote until the screen display reads that the timer has been reset to zero or the lamp and power button both flash.

I have tried every combination and cannot seem to reset my lamp timer. If you figure it out, please share it with us!! I'm frustrated and can't get it to work!!

Just replaced the lamp and the tv turns off after about 60 seconds

First. Did you reset the lamp timer on your tv after replacing the old lamp? This is important to keep track of the life of your lamps. Dust off internally, dust tends to affect the temperature of internal parts. Do you hear any other noises? ex: buzzing, clicking, could be your ballast. If you hear any winding, whirling or screeching noise could be your color wheel.

Replaced lamp. TV does not respond

Hi, do you hear clicking or like a start up sound? if you do it could be an issue with the ballast, that's the board that powers the lamp. Here's how to replace it: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp47-00033a.php Does your TV make a "whining, whirling, clicking, or humming noise?" If the TV have the infamous blinking lights problem and you're replaced your lamp without success, it's most likely a problem with your color wheel. The Samsung BP96-00674A color wheels spin anywhere from 6,000 to 15,000 revolutions per minute (RPM’s)--It is one of the few consumable parts in your Samsung TV. The average life expectancy from our data logging shows the Samsung color wheels are fairly reliable with a MEAN average of 5-8 years. Here's how to replace it:http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php Also make sure door cover is properly shut and also reset lamp timer by unplugging tv wait 5 min and plug it back again.God bless you!

    Projection lamp timer reset

I need help resetting the lamp timer. Is there a way to reset the timer w/o the remote? We bought this tv as a floor model 4 yrs ago and they didn't have the actual remote that came with it, so they gave us another remote that works. We replaced the lamp but we keep getting the message that the lamp needs to be replaced and the timer reset. Plus the red lamp indicator is still on. We even used a friend's remote (he has the exact same tv) and it still will not reset the timer.
