SOURCE: cursor runs all over the screen w/o moving hp wireless mouse

Your mouse could be defective, but let's try a few things first. Try to remove any wireless devices close to it (i.e. wireless router)or try to plug it in a new USB port. Last thing try to use a very dark mousepad. The laser respond to reflection so any white on a mousepad combined with some sun light could result in a free for all mouse pointer.

Change battery. Uninstall the mouse software from the device manager. reboot and see if that doesn't help. If you have a setting problem, try finding HP mouse in the control panel and see if you can change the jumpy situation.

I am unable to hold down the left mouspad key and scroll down the page

Try putting the pointer on the little bar in the middle of the scroll bar. While you hold the left button down.If you want to go from one end to the other fast click inside the track. If your mouse has a wheel click any where on the page and roll the wheel and the page will move. Some wheels can be clicked down like a left click and in this position a four way or to way arrow will appear and you can just move the mouse in the direction you wish to move and stop and the page will scroll at the speed that you stop at this is auto scroll . Some wheels will move the page sideways by pushing the wheel to the side.I like Logitech products.Thank You fur choosing

I am using my mouse then all of a sudden it jumps to a corner of the screen and wont move for a couple seconds even when i try to move my mouse. It is a logitech mouse and is a couple years old any ideas?

Your mouse is jumping, it got an itchy thing on it. By the
way, just try to blow strong over the opening of the laser eye at the bottom of your mouse. It has an accumulated
dust. We are trying to take the dust off. See if this work,
and let us know by e mail.

Most opticals do not track on smooth white surfaces. It needs textures or color. Try pressing the "CONNECT" button on the bottom of the mouse and on the remote sensor.

Does not move cursor, some times it moves but no control

You don't have to take it apart to clean it. The ball is designed to be removed from the unit by releasing it from the bottom of the control. Then you just simply clean off the red area with a cloth. Do not use alchohol on the surface. It could damage the unit.

When turning tue wheel on the mouse, the screen continues moving

Adjust your mouse wheel settings, to scroll less lines at a time. That should take care of it.

I hope that helps,

My Wacom mouse is driving me insane!!!

I think I figured out this problem. It's more of a wearing issue with the constant use of the button. Basically the plastic tab on the internal underside on the mouse is wearing down from continual use. I added a piece of custom cut card stock under the front of the mouse circuit board. This raised it up just a little to compensate for the wear on the button.
