Question about D-Link DSL 302G (DSL-302G) Modem

RE: DSL 302G WINDOWS VISTA

Hi, Been informed by Optus technical support team that our connection problems are due to Land Settings. However, we have a new HP PAVILLION. The problems experienced with internet connection are:
1) The modem communicates with the computer, but will not connect to the internet.
2) We are trying to connect using the ethernet. But have been unable to connect to the Internet as the Microsoft Internet Explorer says unable to open page.
3) The same Modem works perfectly fine on our old windows XP computer using the USB connection.
4) My question is, is it really due to Land Settings not being updated, even though this is a new computer?

Any suggestions?

We had the same problem and the trouble was found in the settings on the dsl modem/router. The line setting was first on line 11 when we experienced the trouble. Tech support had us change the line to 1 and we experienced the same trouble. After we called back we got a tech saying that these are the 2 worst lines to use for windows vista. He had us reconfigure the dsl modem to lne 5 and it connects perfectly now. Hope this helps.

I want to connect my dlink dsl 302g ver C1 to windows 7 but need a driver to install it can you help

Sorry, your hardware only support Windows 98SE, Me, 2K, XP, or Mac OS 9 and OS X,so  you may not be able to connect it in windows 7.

But the manufacturer has done some revised on the driver
here is the link of that revised driver

No activity on my new speedstream 4200

Ethernet and DSL lights are indicating you have ADSL available on your line, and that you have computers connected to the router.

What has probably happened is that Optus did not set up the new router with your username and password. Go to thw following website for details on how to setup the modem.

http://help.optuszoo.com.au/help/dsl/connected/windows/optus_modems/speedstream_4200

Manual Modem Settings The Optus DSL Broadband self-installation CD configures all the necessary settings for your DSL Broadband service. You do not need to manually configure your modem if you have run the self-installation CD. While the following information is provided for your reference, using the self-installation CD is the recommended method for configuring your modem.
The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem can use either USB or Ethernet to connect to your computer.
  • If you are connecting via USB you will need to run the self-installation CD to install the USB driver before you connect your modem. The Siemens SpeedStream 4200 ADSL modem supplied by Optus has been customised for the Optus DSL Broadband service. Only the USB driver supplied on the self-installation CD will work with the Optus service. If you do not have the self-installation CD, you can download the latest drivers from the Siemens website.
  • If you are connecting via Ethernet it is possible to manually configure your modem without the self-installation CD. Only a web browser is required.
After connecting your modem there are two key steps to manually configure your modem for the Optus DSL Broadband service:
  • PC settings - Configure your computer's Ethernet network interface.
  • Configure Your Modem - Set the password in your modem's configuration pages.

No power

cain9:
If I am not mistaken I think you used the power adapter from 302g to 502t?, if yes try simply using the adapter that came with 502t, also please try any other power source from wall socket and try replacing your power bar. If nothing comes up then it could be hardware failure.
I had the same issue with my Dlink router but that was simply the power surge that effected my Dlink router as being continous ON.
I recommend to start using power surge they add a little cost but are really big time savers for things which have to stay ON.
Hope that helped!
