Question about Panasonic PT-40LC12 40" Rear Projection HDTV
Ok, I got this tv with a blown bulb (definitely was blown), ordered a new TY-LA1500 bulb, still no light. I get a few green blinks, then 2 blinks of amber every 5 seconds. I read online that the amber means either the bulb is not fully inserted or its the ballast. I have already tested the thermal fuse and it is fine. How many volts should I be getting to the bulb connector? I'm getting right around 47.........I bought this tv for my grandma to replace her 40 year old tv and its turning into a nightmare, HELP!!!!
Amber light means the cover to the bulb is not in place.

At first i was thinking the ballast had gone bad but after reading a few other post i think it would be best to call pannasonic..
others forums read:
ballast had gone bad. Panasonic no longer makes these ballasts so mine needed to be rebuilt at the tune of $400.00.
With the ballast in place still nothing so now they claim that they need to order a "kit" from Panasonic which basically is all the components of my tv.
