No memory available on SIM How to clear this?

it depends in which terms your memory is full.. The sim card has the capability of storing some sms as wel as some phonebook entries. in order to empty your sim card,
1) in phonebook, tap on more, then move contacts and then select sim to phone. then all your contacts memory on the sim will be back.
2) In messages, some messages will have a sim mark on the icon. For those messages, open them, select more and select move to phone.. You will have to this for all the messages on the sim card.

After doing these two steps, your sim card will have free space.
Good Luck..

Samsung s8300 how do i speed dial using keyboard

Hi, I found a way to get Speed Dial on the Eternity or Ultra Touch . As follows: [most of this from Phonebook/More/Settings/1 ]

1. Copy all address book entries from Sim to Phone Memory.
2. Delete all Sim Address book entries.
3. Switch Address book source to Sim.
3. Re-enter up to 99 speed dial entries in Sim, in the exact order you want them to be assigned to speed dial.
4. Switch Address book source back to Phone Memory.
From now on all numbers on the Sim will be in Speed Dial and you will view the address book from phone memory. Of course any number can be in both places.
Now to speed dial just enter 1#, 2# etc for any number in the Sim Address book. You will get to view and confirm the entry and then dial. In a way this is even better then the speed dial functions on older Samsungs, as the preview before dialing ensures you have the right speed dial entry.
I think it works fine. dk

Nokia 7310 Supernova. If someone calls cant see their name!

well, simple problem in your device.

You must have copied each number with two names or there may be double entery inside phone.
possibly problems
  • Double entry for single number
  • same contact in phone and sim
  • missing country code (ex. +91 xxx) in special cases
  • take one other phone, and delete that number from your phone (sim n phone both memory) after deleting that contact details, misscall from working phone to your phone, and store that contact in ur phonebook
  • delete all contacts and add one time only. make sure no double copying
  • add country code before number
Tht's it, solution is as simple as 1 2 3

When I try to search for an entry it will not find it if the entry is in the sim card. Why? Is it a fault of the firmware? Is there an update?

go to "phonebook", then "more", then "settings", then "view phonebook from" and select "sim"or "all" or "phone" and see what happens.
I had all my contacts in sim and when all was selected the phone would not search. So I slelected from sim only and it works ok ???

You may have to copy all contacts to sim and work around it that way.

What is the capacity of Phonebook of this phone

Phonebook: 100 entries Call records: 10 dialed, 10 received, 10 missed calls
This is the capacity of your phone. And in addition to that, you can still use your SIM card capacity, and SIM card's phonebook capacity changes from operator to operator. (Depends on the technology of your SIM card, you can ask this information from your operator.)

Less inbox capacity.

Isn't it the phonebook memory that can save up to 250 entries?
If it's the sim, what you have to do is transfer all important items to a different storage like phone numbers, emails, etc. Then delete all the entries in your sim and in your phone. Like a clean-up,next is insert our sim again and observe the performance of SMS memory, U better avoid downloads this time to see the problem.

The sim's SMS memory also depends on the phone you are currently using with your sim cause your phone might can't support such storage though it is a new unit.
Like for example if u'll use that sim to an old phone, the SMS memory will be limited.
U must also consider that new phones reserves less memory for messages than for the new application features. And 1 more thing, some phones has multiple inboxes up to 3 so the storage could be devided to 3 too. Check on that also.
There might be hidden files on your phone so better reset it.

Sony ericsson W700i

most of the SE phone have two types of contact saving

1- in phone memory
2- in SIM card memory

if u have contacts saved in SIM memory but u r using
phonebook memory then it is default

if u save any contact in phone memory u have an option too
to copy it to SIM memory

for deleting a contact it will behave like this:
for example, u have a contact saved in phone memory
as well as in SIM memory
if u delete this contact, then it will be deleted from phone
memory but not from SIM memory

and when u are called from same number
(which is not present in Phone memory but is in SIM)
it displays the name again

Deleting phone book entries

Hi cburke. Had this same problem. go to the phonebook, scroll to the number you want to delete and then press menu. it will take you to the edit screen then select delete, or whatever you want to do with the number. Simple really, but instructions with this phone are awful.

PhoneBook access problem

You'll need your security code. If you didn't make one try "0000" or "the last 4 of your phone number". 1. Press menu in the "stand by mode" 2. Select "settings" and "security settings" 3. Select "Memory" if will ask for your code. 4 you now have the option of either using the "phone memory" or the "SIM memory" or "both". Try both. See what happens then try phone only. Its up to you.
