My garmin nuvi 205 (gift) will not acctivate i turned it on Garmin came up on the screen made a beeping noise closed and now just a blank screen

Try resetting your nuvi by holding the power button for 8 or more seconds see page 42of owners manual.
Have you tried a touch screen calibration? Here is the procedure:
Turn off your Nuvi. Then hold the upper left corner of the screen firmly while turning it back on.Release the power key when the Garmin screen appears.

My garmin Nuvi (205 I think) just stopped working...blank screen, does nothing? Was working fine a few hours ago. Car plug in lights up when plugged in but still nothing.

You can restore the Nuvi 205 system software to its factory condition by running Garmin's WebUpdater service. You may also want to try a hard reset of your Nuvi.

sounds like the driver for the speaker circuit is defective, call Garmin, since it is only one year old they may repair it for free to protect there good name, I assume u don't have the speaker turned off, this can be checked by going into the tool symbol and selecting sound volume.

I have a 750. I went to settings, language and restored the defaults. The Voice was blank when I went to that screen. I am not sure if the 205 has the language setup or not, but this should solve other Garmin problems.
