Question about Video Game Consoles

1 Answer

Battery Problem I purchase a Battery off the net, and tried to use it on my psp, a Sony PSP Battery Pack 3.6v 1200 mAH converted to a Pandora Battery. What the problem is, is that it won't sit properly in the PSP so I can charge or use to reset my system. The original battery is a Sony PSP 3.6 1800 mAH, which is slightly thicker than the one I bought and works fine, sits quiet neatly in the player. I have had the orange light come on likes its charging the Pandora but then it flicks off if I move the PSP. I not sure if it could be the battery contacts causing the the problem. Any assistants here will be much appreciated.

Re: Battery Problem

Your only supposed to use the large battery (pandora battery) to downgrade your firware.

you have a psp slim and are trying to put a fat psp's battery in there it won't fit but you can cram it in, but then the back won't attach.

PSP wont Turn On. =(

well if your psp won't turn on then the only way to fix it without buying another psp is to make a pandora battery and magic memory stick or buy a pandora battery from the pandora battery places the psp into service mode and the magic memory stick has the installation files to recover the psp through the recovery menu. I suggest using at least a 2 GB memory stick at least or purchasing the pandora kit fromm it will fix you guaranteed.

Battry pack difference

The 1200mAh lasts shorter. 1800mAh is longer lasting. The higher the mAh the longer the battery lasts.

Bricked PSP

Pandora Battery or Pandora Magic Stick, is psp utility for universal psp unbricker-downgrader- and updater.. the latest version of its utility is DC7..

To create pandora battery you need a psp with custom firmware ready or you can makes its with your PC. The software is open source by psp homebrew development.. that mean its free of charge...

You can't use other battery except psp battery, because psp battery has internal decoding to boot your psp into recovery menu... and has 3 pin battery for it.

If you would like to create your pandora it self, you can find most of our tutorials (all about psp homebrews) at our blog at

Hopefully this be of some help/idea. Pls post back should you need additional information, and also Show your Appreciation, to help other USER.

PSP Will not start

What hapenned to all your PSP's is that they 'bricked'. When your PSP is installing an update and you interrupt the process, the data where the PSP's operating system (=firmware) is stored got corrupted (=broken). In very rare cases this can happen when you play a game and something goes wrong due that game. When your PSP is bricked the green lamp is on but the screen stays black.

Now straight to the point..The solutions:

1.If your PSP 'bricked' because you interrupted a system update (Powered off while updating, canceling update..), then you can only help it by re-installing the firmware correctly. NOTE: This is unsupported by Sony and is something you do on your own risk, for a usual PSP user it is a complicated process and i suggest you should let someone with experience do it. If you still want to attempt it, for example here's a tutorial for making a 'pandora battery' :
To find more information about this subject you could seach on google for tags like 'psp pandora mod custom firmware jigkick'

2. If your PSP suddenly doesn't start up after or while you played a game, then you have a chance that you can recover your PSP without too much hassle. Simply let your battery run empty. After it's empty, remove the battery and let your PSP 'rest' a day without battery. After that, reinsert the battery, first fully charge it, and THEN start your PSP up (after your battery is fully recharged). If you have luck you might have your PSP working again.

3. Contact Sony and explain the situation. Explain that you did nothing wrong. If your PSP is still under warranty they should help you..

Good luck and if i helped you please leave feedback! Thanks

There is nothing you can do about it except you process to the followings:

* As simple as that, you need a converted pandora battery as well as a memory stick with neccessary files installed. You can purchase from ebay or somewhere, but don't go for Datel brand red color so called pandora battery, as Team Noobz! said the quaility control is bad.

* Or you can send it back to sony for repair, it is not a big deal, but I would recom you buy a set of pandora battery and memory stick, that will make your life easier if you brick your psp again by any chance.
