my voip drops out after 3mins and 18 seconds - can you help me - i am using a netcomm voip adapter v300 and a seimens 6520 wireless modem router - toshiba laptop

Thanks for the information, I forgot to ask a few more questions:
- What VoIP provider are you using?
- What ISP are you using (you don't have to answer this one if you don't want to...I just want to know if it's one I've had experience with)
- Have you verified with your ISP that they do not block VoIP sessions or kill them after that 3:18 window? (I doubt they'd admit to it even if they did).
- Have you contacted your VoIP provider about this? If so, what do they say?
- Does your NetComm VoIP adapter have the ability to log it's connections? If so, enable it and paste the logs if possible.
I'm sorry to bombard you with a bunch of questions, but with VoIP the culprit could be one of a hundred things.

I'd love to help, could you answer some questions so I can get a better handle on your situation?
- What type of internet connection do you have (DSL, Cable, fiber, etc.)?
- After the VoIP connection drops out (I'm assuming that means your phone call dies), can you hang up the phone and then call again?
- May I assume your configuration is as follows:
-> VoIP adapter (via ethernet cable)
-> Laptop (via ethernet cable or wireless)

- I have a Seimens 4100B SpeedStream modem. I was using it for Magic Jack. Then my phone provider blocked the modem ports I need to operate Magic Jack. They want $99 for technical help to open these ports. The ports I need open are UDP 5061, TCP 80, and TCP 443. I have DSL with ethernet connection to computer.- Shuffles1Solution #4
