This document pertains to LCD monitors . One of the following messages appears on the screen (over the items being displayed). OSD Lockout OSD Lock-out ... or similar message. This message occurs when the Menu button on the front panel is pressed for more than 10 seconds. OSD lockout prevents the OSD menu from opening on the screen when a button is accidentally pressed. NOTE: The button may be different and the procedure might vary on some monitors. Please check your monitor User Guide to find the exact procedure if this procedure does not work. To remove the OSD Lockout message, release the Menu button (if something was pressing against it), and press and hold the Menu button again for about 10 seconds - until the message goes away. If the OSD Lockout message does not go away, the button may be stuck or the hardware behind the button might have become defective.
All computer monitors, whether they are LCD or CRT style, have a built-in feature called the on-screen display (OSD) lockout that prevents users from viewing any images on the monitor. If your computer screen has accidentally been set to the OSD lockout setting, there are several ways you can remove the lockout.
Power off your computer and then remove the monitor cable from the port on the back side of the computer case. Reattach the cable and make sure the pins are correctly screwed in. Power the computer back on and check to see if the OSD lockout message is still being displayed. Check the manual that came with your computer or monitor and locate the troubleshooting section if you are still receiving the OSD lockout message. Find the OSD lockout heading and read the method that your particular model uses to remove the lockout. Attempt generic lockout removal procedures if you no longer have the manual that came with your monitor. Press and hold the "Menu" button located at the bottom of your monitor for 15 seconds and wait to see if the OSD lockout message disappears. Press the "Menu" button again if the lockout message remains on the screen. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the main menu options. Highlight the "Settings" or "OSD Menu" option and then hit the Menu key again to access the new list of settings. Scroll down to the "OSD Lock" heading. Use the arrow keys to change the setting to "No." Hit the Menu key again to return to the main menu. Scroll to the "Exit" setting and then hit the Menu key a final time to exit the menu setting and remove the OSD lockout.
"OSD Lock" is the On Screen DisplayLock, a feature designed to prevent you from accidentally changing any of the settings of the monitor. To disable the OSD lock, press and hold the menu button for 10-15 seconds.

its old and no monitor this old works.
its older than 2001 year. on or about.
its a vacuum tube CRT relic o f the past.
dump it.
it is a fire hazard this old (dust /lint and 17,000 volts are not friends)
this monitor has this magic I2C chip inside that scans for errors 24/7 if it seen things that can burn up the screen it shut down.
fixing it will cost 5 time the price of a nice LED flat screen used, 17"
why mess with relics?
CRTs are endsville.
the monitor if you attempt to use an ******* resolution of any kind
my reset it self to avoid screen burn, CRTs can burn up.
each maker handles this in a different way,
one shuts off
other just cut the electron beam (Z axis ) to ZERO black screen.
there call there design.
1024 x 768 at 75 Hz, is max.,.. for a fact. so say the manual
