Question about Motorola Mobility Moto Q

2 Answers

I locked the key board and can't remember how to unlock it!!!

Hi,

I haven't used my Moto Q as a phone for a while, because I don't have that service anymore. But, I started using it again as a PDA. I locked the keyboard, because it kept going on by itself in my purse. But now, I can't unlock it! I know it says to press the "*" key, but that isn't working - I think I remember shift + *, but not sure what is the right combination. HELP!!!!

Is there any other way to unlock it than using the left soft key and the A* key?

My phone was recently frozen, and somehow the only thing that's non-functioning is the A*. since my phone was on keylock when the keyboard broke, it keeps turning on with the keylock on

I have a samsung a877 that is locked and i cannot remember my lock code

Hi, Try to visit the links below if you are interested in buying the unlock code:
(superunlockcodes.com)
(mobileunlocked.com/mobile_unlocking.php) (unlocktotalk.com/UnlockCodeInstructions.htm)
Note: unlocking is not free, You will be charged to get your unlock code. The only way by which you can get the unlock code for free is by calling your service provider and requesting for your unlock code or master reset code(but your files will be lost dear if you haven't backed it up).(you can use any of your friend's phone to make this call) You need to provide proof of ownership etc and the phone's unique IMEI number which is located inside the phone under the battery. They use this number to generate the unlock code for your phone. Then they will provide you the instructions on how to enter the codes. Hope this can help you.
GoodLuck=)

I changed my security code and i forgot my security code for nokia 6500 slide. what can i do to unlock it? reply asap please.

Hi, you can unlock it from www.wickedunlock., com www.unlocking4u.com or www.theunlockarena.com very quickly and easily
Note: unlocking is not free, You will be charged to get your unlock code. The only way by which you can get the unlock code for free is by calling your service provider and requesting for your unlock code.(you can use any of your friend's phone to make this call) If your service provider refuses to give it to you, then there is no other place where you can get a free unlock code.
But if you really want it for free, you can try master reset but your files will be lost dear if you haven't backed it up..contact your current service provider to get the master reset code..
OR try these steps for full formatting:
Switch-off your phone.
1. Press and hold 3 keys; Green dial key, * Star key, no. 3 key on keypad and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.
Remember, do not let go the 3 press and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

2. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your phone will back to original system and factory settting.
(your imei number is needed dear) GoodLuck=)

Hi,

Let me give you a little background and then some solutions. This is generic because I don't know your carrier. I'm useing ATT as an example.

Phones are naturally unlocked, but a service provider might lock them

When originally manufactured, all GSM cell phones are unlocked. That is, they can be used with any SIM from any cellphone service provider - always assuming, of course, that the cellphone service provider has compatible GSM service on the same frequency bands that the phone can operate on.

Most cell phone service providers electronically 'lock' the phone so that it can only be used with their service. There are obvious reasons why they choose to do this - in particular, to force you to pay what are usually very high roaming charges when you take your phone out of their network and use it elsewhere in the world.

Fortunately, this locking is reversible. With some phones, it is possible to simply enter an unlocking password code into the phone and it is immediately then unlocked. Other phones need to be connected up to a special unlocking data terminal.

Your phone has to be unlocked by the carrier. LG, Motorala, Sony Ericsson, Nokia  and most of their ilk, will not give consumers the unlock codes but don't despair.

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from your carrier. For example, if you have AT&T to unlock your SIM card, you can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T by:

●        logging in to your myWireless Account online
●        using their Technical Support Chat
●        calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500

To get your phone's PUK code online from ATT:

●        Log in to your myWireless Account.
●        Select My Services under My Account.
●        From the My Services screen, select My Phone/Device.
●        Select Unblock SIM Card.
●        The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong ATT PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

There are three other ways to unlock a phone:

●        The carrier will unlock the phone for you at one of its retail outlets;
●        You can do it yourself by clicking on this link Free Unlock Codes ,
●        Pay $3.89 at the following website:  www.theunlockshack.com/.

I trust that this is helpful and solves your problem. All the best

Ben

Network lock key for samsung E370

Hi there,

First you will need to obtain the IMEI (serial number) for your handset. Type *#06# from your handset. The number that appears is the IMEI. Once you have this number you need to contact the Mobile Operator Customer Service department or use an online Subsidy Unlock service.

The phone must be in portrait mode. Once in portrait mode hit the Dial button on the touchscreen.

Type #7465625*638*Unlock Code #.
(Unlock Code is a unique 8 digit number).
Device will reply: Network Lock Deactivated.

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.

Warm regards,

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
