Camera Shuts Off When I Take A Picture

When I go to take a picture it just shuts off. The batteries are brand new and I have also tried different batteries in it. It worked earlier today and now it won't take a picture.

Try connecting to a computer and see if you can format the memory card as It may be corrupt. or take card out and insert in a memory reader and format it.

Hello, Well it sure sounds like you have a defective battery.I have several DX6490 cameras and have bought brand new batteries that were defective right out of the package !!!! MADE IN CHINA, need I say more ? Quality control is not one of their finer points,Try another battery from a different supplier there are many on E-Bay. This will probably solve your troubles.
Best Regards, Russell

Replace battery sign in New canon A590si camera.

You're using the wrong batteries. You need to purchase lithium batteries. They are quality batteries for high powered, battery operated electronics. Personally, I have a battery charger and use rechargable duracell batteries. (HR6/ DC1500/ NiMH/ 1,2V) Gives you approximately 16 hrs before having to recharge.

My fuji A700 shuts off when trying to take a picture!

I have the same camera with the same problem.I tried the new batteries.Didn't work.I tried holding down the battery back.Didn't work.Took out the memory card and pushed the on button and it said memory card was full, but the memory card wasnt in it.So try taking out the memory card and see if it tells you the problem.I erased some pictures and it worked.

CAMERA WON'T TAKE PICTURES?

i don't know what age the camera is, did you try full batteries , normally it shouldn't do this it must have a defect if the batteries are not the problem..

perhaps contact the dealer see what is wrong with it..

My camera turns off .

Try changing the batteries.
I had the same problem and realised the camera is sensitive to the type of batteries you use.  I had put in non rechargable batteries.  Some brands seem to work and some don't, but rechargables are best, particularly the original sony batteries .

Camera shuts off when you click the shutter button

The same thing happened to mine. While not a solution, my workaround has been to turn the LCD screen off when I'm shooting. It's worked so far.

Nikon coolpix L4 won't take pictures & turns off

I have the same camera & personally, I hate it. My camera does that all the time, sometimes, it takes a while for the picture to actually take. Try holding down the button for a while, that's what I have to do with mine. The camera sucks up all the battery energy with only a few picture takes which I really don't understand. I think that's also why it's cutting off while you're using it. Does the phrase, "Warning: Batteries exhausted" sound familar, especially right before the camera shuts off? Oh, & before I go, my personal advice to you is: Get a new camera. I don't even know why I bought mine, soon I'm getting a new one. Yay. I hope this helped you, sorry about the camera problems. Much luck! :D
