Re: Time and date is stalling

It is most likely that your cmos battery is dying out. You will have to replace it. And as far as limewire and other applications are concerned, many of them will not run right if the appropriate time and date are not set correctly. You can look up your particular laptop online to see what type of cmos battery it takes and order it and replace it yourself. There are many useful sites that will tell you step by step how to replace your cmos battery. Or, you can take it to a service tech and have it replaced, but this will probably be more expensive for a laptop. Good luck.

Re: Time and date is stalling

I'm not sure what you are describing, but I think you mean that your laptop is shutting itself down (likely hibernate or stand-by mode) quickly if you are not actively using it? If so, you can adjust these settings by going to Control Panel - Power Options, and select different timing settings or even entirely disable hibernate and stand-by. Realize that if you are not plugged into the power cable this will use the battery up faster, since that's what these power saving settings are for.

If you are saying that your sysem Clock is freezing, then something else is the problem, and the laptop may have been damaged when the hard drive was replaced.

It says date and time not set after that it shutsdown

If you keep losing your date and time it is most likely that you need to replace the CMOS battery. You can usually access it from under the panels that are removable Memory, Hard Drive etc. It is a watch battery size 2032. Once replaced reset your time and date and time zone and you should all good good luck

Operating system not found

I would suggest you may have a hard drive error. A replacement drive will need the OS to be installed. you may be able to recover your old drive with a USB harddrive adapter and lead.

Lenovo y450 not shutting down

go to and download ccleaner, this will clean out all junk from the hard drive, next download smart defrag from the same location and defrag the hard drive. Both programs should improve performance, next check to see how many programs start up when windows start, if there are to many it greatly slows the shutdown time and some cases stalls, remove any programs not needed.

My Laptop Dell Inspiron

Check the disc for scratches, this could be a bad disc. However, I'm leaning towards another issue besides the hard drive being bad. Tell me what initially happened to make you buy a new hard drive. Hard drives aren't effected by the heat produced by the machine, so tell me what made you think it was heat that caused the hard drive failure.

Ace aspire 3610

If it keeps going into setup, check that the date and time is correct, if not correct it and go to standard cmos settings menu and see if your hard disk drive is recognised, if so exit and save settings and reboot. If sends into set up again, check date and time again and if incorrect again, then the cmos battery is flat and needs replacing, if time and date is ok, then look in standard cmos settings again and look for a line reading 'Halt on all Errors', dissable this and next time it boots it should boot to the part where it gives a clue as to the fault.
