When you ran the autoprogramming it scanned all the channels you are receiving.the dvd is probably plugged into a line or aux input on back of your tv.look for a input or source button on the remote. some tv's have more then 1 input source so be sure to scan thru all input choices.also if it is a dvd/vcr combo & if there is a coax out connection to your tv coax/rf input the tv and/or cable box should be on channel 3
hope this helps

You will need three things to get this to start working again.
1. the original remote control that came with your TV.
2. the operating manual that original came with your TV.
3. and the ability to read the operating manual and follow the instructions on setting up the tv channels auto scan.

Lost channels how do i restor

Try to program with the remote first=in menu selected auto program-also if a box for cable/sat is in line consider it may be damaged.

A simple test is to see if a DVD etc works at all on set---try to see what is and what is not working one at a time.

Cable channels wont program above 27 w my basic cable

Hi classmom2,
I will be happy to help.
You have probably tried this but I will go over it anyway. If it dosn't work we will try something else.
From the video menu on the tv, select the tuning band of CABLE not AIR. Then do a Auto-Channel Search.
From what I gather you have basic cable without a cable box correct?
Let me know what you find and we will go from there.

Channel stuck and can't record shows the same night

Your two problems are related - the DVD player lost contact with the local PBS channel, which altered its internal clock.

Add a red, white and yellow cable from one of the outs on the back of the cable box to the slot marked AV1 IN on the back of the Philips. Then redo the channel programming - press the System Menu button and change Tuning Band to CATV - it will then ask you if you want to do an Auto Channel Set - say Yes.

Once it is done with the channel programming, turn the DVD player to whatever channel PBS is on in your area's cable service. Then go back to System Menu - select Clock Set and go to Auto. Alternatively, you can select Manual under Clock Set and change the date by hand).

Good luck!

Can't get any channels on the air.\

If the tuner is the problem then it is a very bad problem as the tuner is part of the DM module and that is very expensive. When you say you have to manually key in the channels, do they work then? If so the problem is not the tuner. If your only problem is that you cannot go from one channel to the other by using the channel up and down button on the remote, then you have most likely just lost the programming on the tv. Go into menu and set up and find the auto channel programming and run auto program to correct the problem.
