Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR
When i was trying to reset clock i accidently hit another choice on the menu and now when i hit any buttons on my remote control it says rc3. i have unplugged the unit, took batteries out of the remote, reset back to manufactor settings but still cannot use my remote. it tells you how to reprogram the remote in the owners manual but i cannot use the steps as the remote will not let me use any of the controls. just tells me rc3 when ever i use any button even the power button. tried to call panasonic and they were closed and tried to use panasonics web site but they referred me back to the owners manual. help me!!!
Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.

I have a Panasonic remote control and everytime I pushed any button on the remote on the DVD display screen it would read RC1 so I read the above solution which helped but on my remote there was no enter to push so we pushed the #1 button and the OK button at the same time and it worked.

To reset the unit back to factory settings including the default RC1 - press CH UP and CH DOWN buttons together on the front of the main unit - not the remote - hold them for a few seconds until 'SETUP' appears - then go into function menu and check everything - the remote should now operate the machine as intended.

Good Tip, I used enter+1 for mine, I believe that the "1" is the original factory setting.

Try this.. Push the Enter button and the 3 button on the remote for at least 3 seconds.
