wow this is a tuffy,

OK HERE IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO FIX THIS
1.) download the firmware update for the alpine 9883
you will get it off the manufactures web page
2.) Install it,
3.) when ever an update comes out for your alpine IVA-W205 you can upgrade back up to that

The problem really is with the software, now there isnt a current fix for it as they havent found the problem yet. However the alpine 9883 firmware works on your model alpine and very damn well too i may say.. So thats the only way to fix it currently.

The only way to fix both your problems is to mail it into Alpine, the screen is laced in with ribbins and soldered by twelve tips on the circuit board. If you have years of electronic back ground you maybe able to fix the screen, the IR controller the remote maybe bad or the IR sensor is back in the head unit is a 3 pin item that maybe needs to be resoldered or a new one soldered in place of the defective one. I have the same unit and I havent had any problems?? How did you break the screen?

What make and model of vehicle is this stereo installed in? Did you install it yourself?

you have to bypass the parking brake in order to set the clock

could it be as simple as bass boost??? maybe you have the subs hooked up wrong... have to have the ohms right.....hopefully this helped
