Watching tv then all of a sudden noticed a red reflection. then realized the reflection was the red gun broadcast but warped. gun appears solid like it has not moved. when i checked the convergence, the lines looked like they were warped by a big magnet.
any suggestions on what i might do? thanks

Red Convergence IC bad.....small circuit board by itself up
above main boards..........replace both IC's for reliability...

Sounds like either something went pop on the main pcb or in the power supply. Will need a repairman to take a look. & Just a caution if you're feeling adventurous, don't do it yourself unless you know what you're doing!!
on this type of tv each gun is controled by hor.and ver. chip together. it is on the board that controls the convergence of the tv. some manufactors have recalls on problems like this. i dont know if this one does but it may. you can check with mitsub. i do know that this part is about 250.00
Apparently you have a possible component failure with your Panasonic PVQ-2510.
This would involve the circuitry at the back/neck of the picture tube. Diagnosis would require familiarity with discreet components, use of a VOM, soldering and general component knowledge. In as much as it is possible that your red drive transistor (or an IC) would require replacement or resoldering, your best bet is to seek the services of a qualified professional.

These are called retrace lines they occur because of the blanking pulse not turning off the electron guns in the picture tube during the retrace period. Since this is occuring with the red gun there may be a proble with the video circuitry connected to the red electron gun of the picture tube. This would include the red amp and the red driver transistors. You will need a schematic and a multimeter to properly test these items.
