NV-VP60GC-S How do I get the color?

I've got a new Panasonic NV-VP60GC-S multi-region DVD/VHS combo player, and I can't get it to play DVD's and VHS with color. It all shows up on the TV in black and white. Any suggestions?

This didn't work. I think perhaps the TV is too old. It's settings don't include the ability to do this.

Hi,

I am assuming that you are in the United States and chances are that your TV is pure NTSC. Being so, it will not correctly display the color of PAL movies though your Panasonic NV-VP60GC-S will play them, hence the black & white.

Offhand, your best bet would be for a multi system TV/Monitor that is capable of displaying both PAL and NTSC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have you directly connected the cables from your player or you are using some converter like thing..
1) if you are using old tv (as said by you)
2)if the cd/dvd using are pirated

no other option for getting b/w images

Make sure color standard selected same. If TV set to NTSC manually it will not detect PAL so it will appear black and white. Try to change color standard at player side according to TV. Alternately set the TVs color standar automatic.Let us know if any changes happen.

Good Luck

How do I make my tv/dvd combo play any region?

Short answer: I need the make and model # Long answer: Some manufacturers, Philips for example, is fairly liberal of locking their DVD players to one region. It is very easy to unlock philips player, try googling "(brand) region free code" and there will more than likely be articles and sometimes instructions on how to unlock a particular model. Every DVD player is different so there is no one way of doing it. Sony, panasonic and other brands are stringent on their multi region capabilities. I'm not saying there are not ways of doing it, but sometimes it actually requires opening the dvd player and changing something inside, other times it can only be done if the factory before they ship out. Blu-ray has a region restriction also, but I will let someone else more familiar with that format explain that. VHS players in the states is in NTSC format and in some countries they are in PAL format. The only way to get a PAL to play on an NTSC is if the VHS is capable of playing that format. You cannot do anything to make it play PAL. It's kind of like putting a DVD in a CD player and expecting it to work. It just doesn't work that way.

Multi regional DVD player?

Hi,

To my knowledge, yes it is. The Panasonic NV-VP32 will play all DVDs.

However, to be able to view multi region DVDs (PAL/NTSC), the Panasonic NV-VP32 must be connected to a multi system TV (capable of both PAL/NTSC).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
