Re: Dell Inspiron 9200 Battery defunct or ....

Try taking the battery out of the laptop, and see if it will power up. If not it is possible that your power cord died - and your battery may be just fine.

For reference, I've seen plenty of Dell's with dead power cables.

Try these simple steps:

- power on your system

If it doesn't power on, press Fn+Power button to launch the Diagnostic Utility

If diagnostics doesn't come up, your motherboard needs replacement.

Dell Inspiron E1505 won't recognize new battery

It won't charge or work correctly if it's not the correct one and of the right voltage etc.I don't know how the battery even went in if it's not the Dell specified battery. If it went in and looked to fit maybe the battery itself is bad but its hard to say.

New dell replacement battery wont charge insp 9200

Sounds like it is a bad battery - do you know if it was working before you purchased it? Could the pins between the battery and laptop be misaligned? I had this once and i had to get a new system board.

My dell inspiron battery is not charging.

PLz tell me about the model it inspiron 1521 or 1501,From the problem u hav stated it seems that the battery is not getting charged. The computer is only running when the adapter is plugged in.
2 reasons:-
1.the batter have died
2.if it is a new computer or u have purchased a new battery,,then the problem is with the terminals from where the battery gets charged

Moreover some laptop batteries shipped by dell were faulty and dell launched the battery recall program,,specially of older inspiron models.give the service tag of ur computer to the dell technical support guy,,he will check it thru.plz keep me infmd about the prob,,and plz do reply if it gets resolved

Dell Inspiron 2200 Charger Malfunction

Try to turn off the computer and remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. Turn on the computer with just the charger plugged in. If it doesnt turn on. you may have a bad power port.

If it has no power/charging issue since that happened except that the indicator light doesnt turn on when you plug in the charger, you may just need a bios update. Click here. That's the bios update for the inspiron 2200 from dell's website. You should have at least 30% charge on the battery and the ac adapter should be plugged in so you can run it. The computer will restart and will come back normally after this. I'd suggest that you backup your files before running this.

Inspiron 9200 cannot power up.

Start by checking the power supply with an ohm meter for the correct output, however, this is generally a problem with the battery or a memory chip. Start by removing the battery and starting up on the power supply only. Dell batteries are notorious for causing a no start. Then try removing the memory and try one chip at a time in both slots. If none of these work, then I'm afraid you have a failed system board component, and you will probably want to take it in for a professional diagnostics. Also, you can find a diagnostics light codes list for your machine at Dell's support site.

You can also pick up the batteries less expensive than most computer places at batteries plus. And yes it sounds as though it is the batteries charge is getting low, especially if it runs fine when the battery is out and you have it plugged in.
