Phillips 32PT6441/37 32 Inch Screen / Power problem

My television will turn on, however it has a gray screen with lines running across it. After 10 seconds, it will turn off. The green light beside of the power button will flash 11 times-pause-1 time-pause- and then 1 long light and then it will start over.. Any idea what this means? Thanks!!!

Re: Phillips 32PT6441/37 32 Inch Screen / Power problem

Heres whats going on. You have no B+ to you video drive IC, therefore, you RGB runs at 100%, the tv turns off due to over current protect. Heres the most common fix

Check 3351 (res) on crt PCB near video ic, it will be open. Changing, if it smokes you will need to change the Video drive ic, which is a TDJ6107. As a rule, I change both when this problem comes up.

I fixed this very problem several times on this set. You must check some parts and, if bad, replace them correctly and safely. I can tell you what to look for for a small cash fee, but I don't know how this works on this site.

Is it still under warranty?
If not I would find a good TV Service Shop and have them check out the power supply as there more than likely a 'Capacitor' much like a battery that is going bad.

Rca 32 inch tv

this is a frame fault
the fact that you can still see the line when the tv is off is because you have been watching with the line and it has burnt into the crt.

White horizontal lines in my 27 in Phillips Magnnavox tv

I have seen this on mine. Check the cable going into your TV and make sure it is good. The ground portion of the cable could not be making a good connection.

Those are called retrace lines. The electron beam has to go back to the beginning of the screen as part of its raster scan. Normally it is turned down so that it can't be seen. There is a little adjustment knob on the high-voltage flyback transformer called "screen" that will hopefully adjust this for you. If that doesn't work it is an indication that the high voltage circuit is dying.

It sounds like a vertical deflection problem. You mentioned you had a white HORIZONTAL LINE in the middle of the screen. If this line runs from left to right across the screen it's in Verticla deflection. If it runs from top to bottom, it's in Horizontal deflection. I am assuming the problem is a Vertical deflaecion problem. The repairs necessary are most likley to replace the vertical capacitors or the verticla deflection chip.

Blue tint and lines on screen.

Those lines sound like "retrace lines" and several things can cause them. The most common are shorts inside the picture tube and shorted semiconductors in the video driver circuits. They can also be seen if the blue screen voltage is too high or if someone has tampered with the screen voltage control.
